Blimey..:suspect: how long is a piece of string.:)

I would say the basic things are. Straighten and crop the composition if required. I mainly use the curves adjustment to add a bit more contrast and then reduce saturation, as curves tends to oversaturate colours, not a bad thing in landscapes though. Sometimes I use the dodge and burn tools on selected areas. Seek out the tutorials of witch there are many on Utube for the particular software your using.

Thanks Sblower....

Slimbert.....reply I'd expect from a Leeds fan!! lol ;-)

Hi

Look for tutorials on 'Levels' its quick and easy to learn and often necessary.

I stick by my answer.....you should do what ever it takes to improve the photo! I usually tidy up the framing by straghtening and cropping then work on contrast and colours etc.....

Hard to answer your question with a solid answer as each image is different and takes/needs different processing!

Thanks again everyone!! loads there to help get me off the mark!!

I tend to start with a levels or curves ajustment to tweek the exposure, then maybe a hue saturation to ajust the individual colours and saturation. Next is maybe a crop, then any special effects (fiddling) finally sharpen for output.
Obviously not every image will require all or any of these things, it's down to each individual image and what you want out of it.
