Editing LR photos in photoshop question

Howdy,

Just getting to grips with LR workflow and after right clicking a few photos within a set to do some more tweaking in photoshop and clicking save I now have two of the image in LR.

One is the normal image and one with a -edited extension to the filename. They look to be linked saying '1 of 2' and '2 of 2'.

Can I delete the original leaving only the edited? Dare not try in case I lose both.

Risked it and its worked as I wanted.

Shouldn't delete. First is the original raw file which because of LR non destructive edit contains all original data. Second is normally PSD file created by Photoshop with your edits.
