Hi Guys,

you might have seen some of my other threads but i'm new on here and just started taking pictures i was wondering if someone could help me out and edit the photo below so there is no rope in the picture. if someone could guide me to do it if not ill be happy for someone to do it for me.

Many Thanks James

It can be done, but if you are not really but REALLY experienced, forget about it, it will always look fake. I think could do it, maybe 6 or 7 hours minimum, but could never guarantee it would look natural...

The hair would be the more complex, it would have to be hand painted...

Content Aware Fill on Elements 9, plus a touch of clone stamp. A long way from perfect, but not bad for a £50 programme! About 15 minutes.

I had a quick edit to see how difficult it was to remove the rope.
With time and some fiddly work with the hair it could be done.
here's what I quickly came up with.

Hi Guys,

thats awesome work from both of you thank you so much, that will make my friend so happy as she loved that picture of her daughter.

Jon- the program that you used was it called Elements 9.

many thanks again guys amazing work

James

Yes, Photoshop Elements 9. I've just installed it (I usually use CS4) and have been quite amazed at what it can do. That edit was done on a lap top. If I have time, I'll try for a cleaner version on a good screen - but not tonight!

And no doubt some of the others will be having a go...

I wouldn't attempt to remove the rope. far too dificult for me. I dcrop nice & tight and take a different approach.
TBH its also a little on the soft side and the eyes dont shout at you.

yeh i have thought about cropping the photo but i thought if it was possible to get a half decent one for my friend that had been edit she would be pretty happy, thanks for the comment, i need a lot more practice with the camera hopefully ill get there lol thanks

Your welcome!

Well here is my quick go about 20mins worth.
I removed the rope with content aware then tidied it up with the clone tool. I then sharpened it a little with Topaz Detail and brightened the eyes with the dodge tool.
