I have two newborns in the family and i'm looking for inspiration for some nice pics. I saw a few of Gary's and they were stunning and i'm wondering if Gary or anyone else could post a couple of their favourite shots so i can get my head around what i want to do. I have some hot shoe flashes/softboxes/umbrellas so lighting wise i should be ok.

I love EG's TP Day entry. It is by far the best baby pic I have ever seen. The lighting and composition are simply superb, and coupled with an excellent concept.

Hope he doesn't mind me linking it here:

Cracking photo and looks so peaceful!

Here's one i took on Sunday, one of 6 month old twins, it was very hard work trying to get them to smile and posing them, obviously newborns is a different ball game, but i don't think this it is something i will be doing on a regular basis if i can help it :)

I'm not a fan of that balloon photo  I love my wee girl to bits, but that shot is so wide of the mark in terms of my visualization that it bugs me every time I see it.

The others I posted elsewhere I love.

Thanks guy's excellent examples there. I am sure these will help. I am not wanting to copy other peoples images but i do feel it gives you ideas when looking at well taken shots like these.

Gary did you light the balloons separately in that shot or was it all lit from the front? I keep reading about back lighting for separation from dark backgrounds but i'm not too sure about this?
