Hi Gang

I'm off to Edinburgh next week for a day and i'm taking some of my gear, i'll be there from about 11 to 4 and ill be on foot for the whole time

Any recommendation for things to shoot? I'm into architecture , so any places in particular you can recommend?

I was looking at the old town but i don't know of anywhere specific

Thanks in advance
Rob

Heres a link to my little mini holiday recently. Some of Holyrood abbey, on board Britania and a few from the castle, museum roof and on Calton hill (not sure of spelling)
Lovely place for a wander with the camera, but we went for a tour bus/attraction 3 day pass
In your time scale, you'll be able to get the monument, royal mile, castle/oldtown areas if you dont dilly too much

I live in Edinburgh and it's a great place to shoot while walking around. I did some this morning!

My recommendation would be (based on your timescale and walking)

*Start at Holyrood Park - which takes in Arthur's Seat and the Parliament.

*Walk up the Royal Mile - Beautiful and full of small closes, statues and people and Edinburgh Castle is at the top.

*Head down to the grassmarket then to George IV bridge - this will get you an iconic edinburgh street and greyfriars bobby/kirkyard.

*Then go for the mound which offers views of Princess street, scott's monument and waverly station.

*If you have time then a trip to Calton Hill is worthwhile too, you can see Princess street, Arthur's seat, all of Leith and out over the Forth.

This would take in a lot of the old town and a small element of the new town but there's obviously hundreds to photograph in a city like Edinburgh. Sorry for the long post but I could write forever.

If you want some ideas then take a look at my flick - it's all geotagged so that may help too.
