An interesting article here about this non-native species which is thriving here and is having a detrmental effect on the environment.

Edible Dormouse.

Set Heston Blumental on them, he'll sort them out!

Deep fried mouse in chocolate with mint and asparagus tips! yum :)

I dont think we need Heston....
looks like you have it well sorted...
put me down for half a dozen

I didn't read it, so I don't know what it says,
but they are a bloody nuisance around these parts!
( that bloody Rothchild again!)
And in their infinite wisdom,
DEFRA protected "dormice" and didn't specify
Glis glis (Edible) or hazel ( native)
So in one foul swoop put a protection order on a non native species.
So lets hear it for DEFRA ladies and gentlemen ;)

They can however be trapped & destroyed under licence, though I also heard that
they were soon to be removed from protected status, and added to the "general licence"

On the way.

No more than 30 seconds in the microwave if you want them hot, any longer and the chocolate starts to melt.
