Ecnivs 52 Week (attempts)...

Hi Vince

having a catch up on your catch up's :)

Time...nicely framed & sharp...a touch more background blur would have added more of a feeling of speed but like it anyway

Love the macro for Record...great detail & colors

Wind...like your thought process to get the theme connection...possibly a touch of tweaking in levels ? The skys obviously bland (as per normal in this country ) but the rest of the shot seems ....hazy is the best description I can think of ? Maybe a slightly tighter crop to lose the person to the left ?

Smell....yum yum...making me hungry

Record #1 has a really great feel to it. That table needs to be in my kitchen, think they'll notice...

You've tried to get too much in for me and as a consequence it's too busy. Everything apart from the desk/chair are superfluous, for me and getting closer would emphasise the theme and some of the writing may be visible.

#2, nice and simple but effective. I'm liking the lighting and vignetting.

Cheers.

I hear what Stan says, and have said similar myself in the past, but I guess the theme and how you interpret, photograph and PP it is an individual choice.

Anyway, it's well composed and you have some nice motion blur in the wheels.

I had a quick 2 minutes in LR and found brightening and increase in saturation helped.

What are them pale things coming into the bottom of the frame?

Cheers.

Time - a nice crisp shot.
I may have been tempted (if I had thought of it at the time) to have added some lap time details at the bottom of the image, as they do on the TV, to help identify the theme.
Nice idea :) maybe next time!

Time : I will try next time - first time out with the 300mm tair, first time motorsport and first time proper panning (attempts).
Wind - was the only one I found that looked close to what I wanted... Will keep an eye out incase I spy another somewhere else.

Record #1 - was a snapshot on a day out that happened to coincide with the theme. Realised later. If I go back and re-shoot I think I would go closer for some detailing on the records. Will bear in mind for the future.
#2 - off camera flash (top left) lying on floor with the built in diffuser. I was a little tipsy at the time and all the other shots had dust (even after I wiped) so this one is the best of the lot.

Thanks :)

Hi Vince, a nice shot as it stands but, sorry, not too sure about the theme...
Bit of a stretch tbh but will do for now :) Thanks

Its a crop from the 300mm tair... m42 lens. First time for a lot of things and in no way matches some of the shots people took from that day.
I always have a problem with brightness - looks fine on the tv at home, but is always darker on other monitors - will bear in mind for the future.
I think I have left most of the silverstone pics with default saturation levels, so maybe I could have tweaked them a little more. Will try next time too!
Grey things are the fence I was shooting through (very high fences all around) If you have a browse through the flickr set you can see the fences in the 105mm shots...

Thanks :)

Hiya Vince,

I notice you have been busy doing a catch up .... some good shots, my fav being the 1st record shot. Also great photo for mix.

Well done

Cheers

I'm loosing track here on what I have and haven't seen with all these place holders.
So, volume, I don't think I've seen it
I like the way you've stitched the pictures together, but I don't like the black in the top left corner. One shot of the student in the water may have been sufficient.

Explode looks more like smash to me, but putting that a side I like the picture. I'mnot sure why, it just has an appeal about it.

I'm not sure why, it just has an appeal about it.

Weirdly, I took the pic thinking I might be able to post process it into something. Does have an appeal not sure why...

Post processing: Gimp -> vignette, black n white and a mask in the middle. Gaussian blurred a lot (the mask that is).

Added Work (Page 4)

I'm not a fan of the way you've presented the pictures.
The borders are of different sizes, the picture sizes are different and don't align an as a result there is a big blank space top right.

A single shot would have worked showing th edetail, and for that single shot should have been the one in the bottom middle, the one with the pear drops and the guys arm. Out of them all, this is the shot I like.

Thats cause I wanted all the sections that made up the work going into making the pear drops... From the 155 degrees c syrup to the moulded sweet at the end...

Was trying for all the photos in the pic to show that.

Obviously failed a bit, may be next time. (so not one photo, but lots - just not done right)

Apologise but have to agree with Neil somewhat on the presentation of the shots, different size, formats and alignment is quite confusing.

I think I know  what you’re trying to convey here. I thought may be the middle bottom row shot would do for the Work theme.

Some good shots never the less.

Hi Vince.....

cracking image for Evolution...love that old camera & the processing you've applied suits it perfectly  Love the 2 styles of text each suited to one of the cameras  The only minor , very minor niggle is the box you've put the new camera in is bigger than the black box above it
Love the image anyway...great work

Work...I actually like the selection of shots....my eye's were all over the place spotting different parts of the process...so a  from me
