The 8-channel triggers from ebay seller jiakgong should also be looked into.
They are basically the same but unlike some others they have a PC socket and the receivers take AAA batteries. The performance may be better and the price lower.
Allowing them to "warm up" for a few seconds seems to help, if they don't fire immediately. Don't forget to switch off the receivers when you're done, and invest in some Hybrio (or similar) batteries. Jiakgong also sells strips of batteries for the transmitters.
There's a hotshoe adapter by Kaiser (type 1301) that'll mount in a hot/coldshoe or on a 1/4-inch thread tripod mount and has a sync cord. That's my preferred way of connecting flash to receiver. The receiver's hotshoe would be better, electrically, but that's putting the weight of the flash above a not-too-secure plastic clamp and further above the centre of your light modifier.
If you're feeling flush, the Lastolite "Metz" tilthead is a modded Manfrotto MN026 with some bent alu strip and a 1/4-inch thumbscrew you can use for attaching a hammerhead flash or the flash trigger receiver. Up top is a plastic coldshoe fixed with two screws, so you can reverse it for easier access. Then it becomes my preferred position for the receiver. There's also a 1/4-inch boss for a hotshoe adapter. Shim washers may be needed, to orientate the adapter correctly, or you can simply rotate a tilt/swivel flash unit. There'll be better security of the mounted flash (depending on which way you're most likely to tilt it, for bounce or shoot-thru) if the hotshoe adapter's opening tilts upwards. You can rearrange the two pieces of alu strip on the brass insert by unscrewing them while locking the insert in its socket, higher than its usual position.
The tilthead without flash or receiver attached weighs 500g and occupies 6 x 5 x 3 inches and wouldn't be the kind of thing to have rattling about against the rest of your gear. A very nice man at Spa Photo gave me a good price. A cheaper alternative is available from FlashZebra.
