eBay triggers... need an aerial added!

Yes
I have a Yongnuo eBay special radio trigger and it is not giving me enough range (1-2 meters!). I have new batteries both the transmitter and the receivers but I still only get a couple of meters.

Unfortunately I cannot just bin them and get real triggers :(

I see on the interwebs people soldering in better aerials but never the exact same ones as I have, so I am not quite sure where to solder the aerial in.

Are any of you expert enough to give me advice?

The circuit board looks like this (click to zoom above the tiny image limit :) )
Also the bottom image there has some mouse over notes from me with my guesses!

Thanks!

hi
There's a hole in the circut board about a 3rd of the way up on the right, in the 2nd pic.
Thats where you need to solder it to. :-)

Great! Thanks. That was the conclusion I was coming too but I wanted conformation before melting anything too badly :D

Let us know how you get on!

I too i'm interested in this thread now. What model triggers are they?

I have a feeling an antenna mod isn't going to fix the problem, you should be getting a reasonable range with the triggers ("any" of the Ebay-type) straight out of the box....

It does make quite a bit of difference. At least, it did with mine.

It raised the reliable firing distance from about 10' to 100'.
