ebay sale

wow.................must put mine on there

quick look again he has 3 boxes on there now at 31,23 and 16

Rather ironic that three empty boxes could make him 50% of what his car is going to fetch! :D

WTF for a box. Why?

Ooo, I suddenly have the urge to dig around the loft.

I sold a couple of boxes when my stuff got burgled and they do ok on Ebay.

Of all the times that I wanted a box for my 70-200mm vr there wasn't any - I even went & brought one from Canada in the end :bang: But I paid a lot less than what thats up for thou :D

The more an more people who ask does a lens come with a box - then people will sell to them to people who dont have a box so they can make a sale...

Catch 22 in a way - So who do you blame, those that want the box or those who sell the box

Thing to also take in - is that the serial No. is completely different to the one on your lens.... Obviously!!!

Some folk are only prepared to buy used gear if it's boxed.

£30 for a box does sound nuts but it might be that the difference will be recouped.

I've been looking for a box for my Fuji S5 for about a year. Tried Fuji UK and have a constant eBay search with email reminders set for it......... no joy.... kinda gave up now...

to be honest - I've never experienced the huge difference selling stuff with or without box etc. even lens caps or other such things.

I think I have some empty cardboard box. Anyone wants to buy ?
for example - shoe box and slow cooker and steamer box

 £45.35 for a 10.5 mm box :bang:

Looking at his other items, all of his boxes are going for high prices..

I remember an evil bay sale a few years ago for an X Box Box & i think the guy paid about £120 thinking he had bought an X box. Always pays to read them evil bay listings very carefully

well the sellers are sometimes cheeky. I've seen film camera go for mad price as people thought that the lens is included !

This is madeness at its best :bonk:. dam i am up in the loft tomorrow......must have £200 worth of Nikon worthless boxes

whats the going rate for a sigma 120-400 or a sigma 50-150box?????

 Is that so you can pay us to take it off your hands   :coat: :exit:

Wonder how much a empty corn flake packet would make :cuckoo:

Come on guy’s think about it... Knock off gear, cheap chinese copies etc.. No Box, buyer is very suss.. But if the seller puts it up for sale pictured with a nice UK market box how many of us will then check the serial no on the box against the one on the lens, cam etc ??

Can't say I've ever heard of fake Nikon or Canon cameras or lenses, watches yes, cameras, no....

hmmmm ....just bought a Nikkor-H Auto pre-Ai 28mm off eBay

stunning mint condition ...BUT delivered wrapped in bubble-wrap and gaffer tape - no box, not even a cardboard one - and no caps

...was it from you.?...:lol::lol::lol:

I'm off into the loft now.

I reckon I must have enough boxes to be able to buy a new lens!!!!

for insurance purposes as well if you have box, for the lens that was stolen from you. you have the proof that you had the lens in the first place!!

Or you could buy aload of boxes off ebay for £40 fake a break in and show them the boxes :lol::lol:

think the receipts might be more acceptable.

Those boxes do seem pretty steeply priced but then, it'd take a lot more than that for me to part company with my collection of Gold boxes.

I'm trying to get enough to build a big gold fort!

um no, not in the slightest. Proof of a box, is not proof of owning the lens that originally came in the box. See post 1# in this thread.

That's a bit like me saying, my Ferrari was stolen from my garage!
Can you prove you had the Ferrari Sir?
Um no, but look here's the garage....
Oh OK Sir.
