Hi, my names LM, and i'm a ranter.

No, but seriously, Ebay(ers) really does get on my wick.

I placed my xbox on ebay a few days ago, it ended today. The winning bidder won it for £205, which I was happy with, and all was hunky dorey. I sent him an invoice, he then marked as payment sent. So, I checked my paypal balance...

10 points to the first person who guesses what happend next...

CORRECT! There wasn't a payment in there. Did you guess right?

Fantastic, I thought, just what I fancied, a non paying ebayer, god i'm lucky.

Next minute, I recieved negative feedback. Sooper Doooper. I checked it, and the lovely person had left me negative feedback saying 'lol'. My my, how clever they are.

So now, i've got to wait 7 days and file a dispute to get my £12 back that ebay have taken off me for 'ebay fees', and my xbox is still sat here which means no camera upgrade until it sells, again.

I really, REALLY hope the person who won my item gets hit by something large, heavy, and that's moving at a vast amount of speed.

*Note - This post may contain slight sarcasm, if symptoms persist, please contact your GP.

If it's marked as payment sent, then you should be able to find out their postal address under something like print postage labels or something, and by doing so, you can post a dead rat in a box to them.

Sorry to hear of your bad dealings on there!

Jonathan

I mostly stopped using the auction format years ago beause I was sick of chasing people for payment. Pretty much everything I list now is "Buy it Now" with immediate Paypal payment required. That way everything is done and dusted as soon as the button is pressed

I think i'm just going to stop selling on ebay, I always seem to draw the short straw. Whether it be getting fleased off paypal, or people not paying.

KH - Cheers, i'll check that.

what an utter gob*****, shame you now cant leave negative feedback for sellers *well done ebay!*

surely this person is a blatent abuser of ebay and they should close his account? he clearly had no intention of paying you and was also goading you with negative feedback and lies

definetly send him a turd in the post

if i thought the xbox would last longer than a few weeks i would buy it off you. Not saying yours isnt any good, but the failure rate...

The bogus buyer prolly also had an xbox for sale ending at the same time, or before yours. He/she obviously wanted yours out of the way so created an account with the sole purpose of doing what they did to you. I've had it happen to me before. They're not bothered if the account gets closed because its serves its purpose.

You should open a dispute straight away and when your buyer inevitably doesnt reply, you should get your neg removed and your fees credited.

I've also had it ebay and use it as little as possible now.

when the hell did that happen, makes it easier to sell dodgy gear, or not post items doesnt it.

I used to sell about £8000 quids worth of stuff on Ebay a month but they were utter prats and no help for sellers at all, buyers could leave completely unwarranted feedback and Ebay wouldn't do anything about it, even if they try to blackmail me i.e. send the item for free and I'll remove the feedback. Same with Paypal, once they've got the fee's, they cudn't give a crap about your money so had to stop with it, really frustrating!!

I sold a camera a couple of months ago, the guy paid with a paypal echeque which took the best part of 2 weeks to bounce because of the bank holiday, then he said he didn't want it, my only option for leaving him feedback was positive or nothing so I left nothing, 2 weeks later I get a neutral with neutral as the comment.

ebay weren't interested so I left him a positive pointing out he was a non payer and a total tool

I don't see how not being able to leave negs for non payment is an improvement

I think the feedback system for ebay is awful. A girl sold me some shoes for my girflriend that were described as MINT. When they turned up, the heels were missing, and the leather on the back of them was torn, we left her negative feedback stating the issues, this was after contacting her by email at least a half dozen times and showing her pictures etc, she blamed the Post Office, even though they came bagged in a tesco carrier and a bin liner (well wrapped eh?:nono:). She then reported me to ebay as a bad buyer who was sulking because i wasn't happy with the price of the item, even though the price was never an issue. I got negative feedback from her, and a warning email from ebay saying i would have my account suspended for 30 days. To say i went a little mad is an understatement. Ebay is getting worse by the day due to people not being honest. I only buy from 100% feedback sellers, and only sell on a BUY IT NOW basis, no issues with payments then.

I have both bought and sold on ebay and I still think the worse thing they did was stop you being able to leave negative feedback for buyers. I don't think there is any argument that there are dodgy sellers on there, but why the hell do they think all buyers are saints? :bang:
