Yes
Never come across this before.
Won an item on ebay, went through the paypal payment, but noticed that after making the payment it says "payment - not claimed" by the buyer.
I have searched ebay and paypal but cannot find an answer.

Anyone come across this before ?, if so what's it all about...

This happens when the email address used to make the payment is not assigned to any account.
PayPal will send an email to that address telling the seller that funds have been sent and to setup an account to claim the money.

They obviously haven't claimed it.

Maybe they out the wrong email address for payment when setting up the eBay sale.

Out of interest ... Did you get your item? If you have the goods and have handed over the funds to PayPal then it's up to the seller to get their money from PayPal. I agree it's a bit strange though.

Had this before christmas, took ages to get the seller to sort it out. in a nutshell they'd put .com instead of .co.uk in their paypal address field when selling the item.

Thanks for the replies.
The seller has been a user since 2006,. has got around 23 feedbacks, so would have thought they would be familiar with the process etc.

I have not received the item as yet, and as it stands payment not claimed. Used the contact, but no reply yet.
As said never experienced this before.

Since eBay own Paypal, if you go through the dispute procedures I'm sure they will sort it out for you, if only to assist in making contact with the seller.

All sorted, seems the seller had not registered there new email.
