Ebay or PayPal discounts

Every now and again either ebay or PayPal seem to have % discount code for purchases but I haven't really spotted a pattern to this. As I have a few things in mind to buy on ebay soon I was wondering if anyone else had spotted a pattern or had any inside information on when the next one might be?
 
Have you signed up for E-bay notifications?
Trouble is you get a lot of other bumf as well as the discount special/offers!

Yup! I get excited every time I see the wee email from them only to see its their 'handpicked deals' which are usually a load of crap I'd never buy like selfie sticks! There must be some ebay or PayPal employees on here surely!

I never saw the, before but when i bought a tilt shift lens it had a 10% discount, checkout out and it worked, eBay paid the 10%, great deal.
 
Not sure it'll be the same with p.pal or amaz0n, but worth trying;
When you're viewing something you're thinking of buying, click add to basket, then close the tab without actually proceeding with the purchase.
Sometimes with varying sellers, you'll get a promotional code/discount offer a few days later to entice you. ;)

Tried that several times with both, never worked yet!
 
Ive got about 10 ebay accounts, the last time i saw a 10% code was about a month ago, and it had a short usage period as well, less than a week, most last for 2 weeks or more.

Out of the 10 accounts, only 4 got the code.

Open up a few accounts and leave them, the offers will come.

That's probably worth a shot. Don't they question why you have more than one address with the same address on file? Multiple email addresses are fine but haven't managed to buy my 2nd house yet :)

No they dont ask anything, just a different email address , same paypal for each account.
 
Might give that a shot then. If only a kind moderator would let me back into the Classifieds to find out if anyone wants to buy my Canon G12 then I might have the money to spend on ebay!

Your ratio is currently 51%, a little bit more positive interaction outside the classifieds and you'll automatically get let back in again soon.

Thanks, Dave. I've been trying but I'm naturally more of a reader than an active participant. Just frustrating as my access got cut off in the middle of selling something. Hopefully will get back in soon!
 
There hasn't been any posts on your thread since Saturday, so don't worry. Get stuck into some photo critique or a bit of debate in out of focus, you wouldn't need that many posts to get below 50% again. Don't forget to keep posting outside the classifieds in future or the system will lock you out again.

Thanks, got my access restored today at last. Will be sure to post more elsewhere to keep my access :)
 
PriceSpy is an interesting app that can watch the prices of certain products over time and notify of any price drops.
 
That's good I'll head off to the play store as I'm also on Android
