eBay Memory Cards.

I have read a few posts here regarding buying memory from eBay sellers, some good and some bad. Can anyone recommend a good and reliable seller?

If I am lucky enough to receive my 7D and lens recently purchased from Argos, I shall need to buy a couple of compact flash cards, which appear to be significantly more expensive than the equivalent sized SDHC cards. :)
 
Why risk ebay? Amazon sell San Disk 16GB UDMA cards for 38 quid. I've got two and they work perfectly. You're only going to save about a fiver at most on ebay and run the risk it's a dodgy copy. At least Amazon will replace stuff without question if problems arise. Just too many dodgy knock off flash memory devices out there for me to ever trust ebay on one.
 
ebay and even amazon sell dodgy cards dont risk it

i have one from amazon seemed fine could be legit but no box and stated new i couldndt send it back and get another quick enough so took the gamble but certainyl wont buy of there now for cards

only of here on the for sale section or from a genuine camera dealer
 
I've bought all my cards (4 cf and about 8 sdhc) and rechargeable AA batteries for flashguns etc from 7dayshop.com

They aren't the quickest at delivery as they are based in the Channel Islands so it might be advisable to get a cheap cf card from asda's or somewhere similar. I got a 4Gb Sandisk card (never use it now as I use 16Gb cards) from there while waiting for all the other cards to arrive. My cards are all Duracell brand and they are fantastic, fast read and write, reliable and a decent price at 7dayshop.

Amazon is perfectly OK as long as you DONT use the Marketplace.
If it is 'Sold by Amazon' then all will be fine.
Mind you, not ALL marketplace sellers are dodgy!

Amazon are selling Kingston 16gb 266x compact flash cards at about £15 a card. I've tried using some of the 3rd party sellers and although all deliver and they work, the time taken to receive is a little varied, and will only use Amazon now.
 
Bought all but two of my cards from Amazon with no issues at all, the other cards, I got one from a locally well know and respected shop (my first 512mb card, the other I got direct from the manufacture (Delkin))

If you could not send the card back then it was not bought from Amazon, but from a dealer in the marketplace.

A lot of the Amazon marketplace sellers are also on ebay as well. I'll certainly buy stuff from such places when there is less of a possibility of it being fake. Memory cards are just such a minefield though. I got mine from the main supplied by etc site. Also had decent quality cards at a good price from Play in the past, but that was a fair while ago, and have used 7dayshop but don't always find them competitive on price for branded stuff.
 
The 8GB could be newer stock and Ian's supplier may have charged him the newer, higher price that I've heard all memory will be rising to (after years of prices for it falling).
 
i bought a class 10 samsung 16gb SDHC card on ebay a while ago and had no issues

Possibly because the smaller cards are becoming rare as manufactures concentrate on big and bigger cards, try buying a 512MB card these days.
 
All my Sandisk Extream CF cards come via Amazon/Amazon market place and all are 100% genuine.
I find the trick is to look at seller feedback and dont buy the cheapest ones.
Amazon doesnt allow fake goods to be traded on its market place, so if you do end up with a duff contact them and they should sort you out.

But if/when you find out you might not be in a position to get a replacement to allow you to continue shooting.

I would trust Amazon, but not Amazon Marketplace.

All mine come from MyMemory.
