From his description he might as well bin it as I don't think there's much chance of it selling for £340 :lol:

The finer points are

1. The viewfinder LCD does not work.
2. The delete button doesn’t work (seems to be stuck in).
3. The flash hotshoe may be a bit flaky
4. The flash doesn’t stay down.I just used some Blu-Tac to keep it down
5. There are a number of cracks in the outer plastics of the camera.

So basicly I threw it down the stairs and now want shot of it and hope some gullible person wastes thier hard earned on it.
 
would it be wrong to ask him how many stairs it fell down? It never fails to amaze me the junk people try to sell, or for that matter, the stuff people buy! At least we should applaud his honesty, a lot of people wouldn't mention minor niggles like that!
 
It has to be a joke...surely. I mean I know nothing about cameras but I wouldn't pay anything near the asking price for what basically seems like it has been thrown out of a moving car then driven over a couple of times. A 99p start would have been apt lol.

Well he will "in addition" include..... the Genuine Nikon battery & MH-18a charger... :thinking: IIRC these come with these anyway...

Nice of him to throw in a SD card & wireless £14 Nikon remote thou :p
 
In reality its only worth offering £20 then I guess for the charger and remote, maybe an extra £5 for the memory card

made an offer of of £25, got turned down, but on the bright side seller has made a counter offer to me of £320 if I want it. Bet you are all jealous now!:lol:

He means the bit that shows you all the detail like shutter speed etc.
Not sure what it is, must be some sort of LCD in the bottom of the viewfinder assembly. Judging by the great crack on the left of the viewfinder, its been dropped and probably dislodged the connection or just flat out broken the screen.
 
This worries me too
3. The flash hotshoe may be a bit flaky – most of the time it works but sometimes it just won’t fire the flash. I say ‘may’ because I am using an old (30yrs+) manual flash which could be the problem. I have no other flash to test on the camera, and do not know whether a newer TTL flash would work or not, so bear that in mind.

Arent the voltages of older flashes different, so there is a possibilty of fried flash circuit too?

reported both items too, sellers like this are scum as they make it look like a real product and even the start price would make you believe its real :bang:

Being honest, I nearly bought it after reading the first two lines but then I noticed the 5D details and looked harder.

There is part of me that is still quite tempted to buy it safe in the knowledge that I don't have to buy it :naughty:

If you trawl money saving expert forum you'll notice from time to time the number of people who fall for the iphone listing, half the time they will receive a boxed photo of an iphone sent via recorded delivery. Thankfully ebay aren't totally stupid and will side with the buyer as it is very misleading and obviously a blatant scam. Even though it is stated in the listing what you will actually get. There was a brilliant ad for the boxed photo of the iphone, i read it through 4 times and still believed it was really for an iphone, it was only after it was pointed out and re read for a 5th time i could see in certain paragraphs that it was just for a photo but it was so cleverly worded that you just sort of skimmed over it. I caught a lot of people out that one. :bonk::bonk:
 
2. The delete button doesn’t work (seems to be stuck in). Again this really isn't a big problem as there is a delete function in the menu, which can actually be faster as it allows you to select multiple files for deletion.

d90 - at least the seller is honest. I will give that to him.

There is so much misdescribed stuff on ebay now - everything is "fully working", "as new", and "perfect". It seems to me collection is the only way.

The other "picture" items shocked me. Just how bad can it really get? Piratebay?

Bloody hell, someone's going to be seriously hacked off having paid £500 for it!!

What's even more amusing is that the listing was for a 7D and the prod description was for a 5D.

To be honest the person who has bought it clearly didn't read the whole listing, they just a bargain and bought and thats how they people get conned as greed gets the better of them :bang::bang:
 
All his images must have been ***** and he was constantly deleting them.

I had a look through the seller's completed items and it looks like he is just desperate for money.

I'm desperate (well, maybe not desperate) for money but I couldn't even contemplate scamming someone.

What is it with these dik's - £2.20 for a packet of fags with a express delivery charge of £25 and there was 3 people bidding.....

If people cant see the ridiculous amount for postage when they bid/buy then they are fools to themselves - thats the first thing I check before actually placeing a bid or even to buy it now....


looked at a previous sale of his & he states the following & its copied pasted -

Clearly been dropped on the prism housing - and probably tumbled a bit too.

Someone is going to get very unlucky - definitly not worth £300+
