Ebay gone mad....

Hmmm...no feedback for the buyer....seems dodgy!

I`ve seen these where dodgy bidders wreck your auction bidding way over the top. The last few bidders only registered in the last day or so.

Just shows what a pain in the arse eBay can be. Last thing I sold on there was an iPhone, and it took me 3 attempts.

It's funny, 'cos as soon as the bidding ends, eBay get in touch to tell you that the bidders account had been used fraudulently.

SO WHY DID YOU NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BEFORE THE BIDDING ENDED? :bang: :cuckoo:

I hate eBay.

ebay is used for certain aspects of money laundering IMO, there's often a mobile phones going for £000s.

I'd better get some of my kit on there i could make a killing

if you set ebay up correctly in your preferences this sort of annoying bidding doesnt usually take place ... ban the buggers i say !:lol:

strange ........ Zero rater, No Paypal, No credit card = No bids on my stuff ..!

My bids were coming from accounts which appeared absolutely normal. Lots of feedback, been members for years. Then the bids went over the top. They won the item, then eBay gets in touch to say the account had been used fraudulently and deletes the listing.

Then the emails begin from the person who 'won' the item, asking where their item is.

And since eBay deletes the listing, you have to start a whole new listing (upload photos, write description etc...) rather than use the relist option.

A major pain in the arse. Especially when it happens again and again! It took me nearly a month to sell my iPhone.

Ebay are a joke, I sold an item last month, but the buyer never paid.... I opened a case to get my seller fee back (£60) and because I didn't close the case before 60 days, ebay closed the case and I wasn't eligible for a fee refund... the whole point of opening a case is so ebay investigate, why would I close the case when I'm waiting for 1700 quid ???? Its mental,

Anyway rant over, sorry for hijacking the thread.

Simple to avoid...fixed price, buy it now, credit card needed to bid, immediate payment. I've had zero problems since I started selling that way, except once when I decided to have one more go at an auction listing.......and the buyer was suddenly rushed into hospital within minutes of winning the auction, sound familiar? :suspect:

The guy was probably having an attack of some sort and kept bidding by accident whilst clutching at the mouse...it was the ambulance driver that replied...:p

Urm yeah, it is, not really opinion but PayPal has a whole anti-money laundering department and monitors all PayPal accounts.

If you receive more than £650 in your account within 12 months PayPal will investigate and you need to confirm your identification in several different ways. The limit for 12 months is about £1,700 I think unless you have a business account.

Back on topic: Look at the bidding history, all the bids of £500 and up are no longer registered on eBay.

I would like to say that ebay, and Paypal, are something I will never, ever, touch again. I had +ve feedback of over 420.
Then I listed my 50-200 Zuiko, and FL50 flash with the power grip.

The Spanish buyer for the lens never paid me, and the guy who bought the flash broke it. Ebay refused to open my claim, yet I have a case against me in Paypal telling me I owe them £300 for an item sold in good faith, in working order, that they decided was 'not as described'? If they want, they can come to my house, and test it. It works fine now. I fixed it, in 5 minutes.

They can whistle, I ain't paying them, and I await a claim, so I can take them to court.
They used to be a decent bunch, but no more.

When I upgraded my phone the other day, I was chatting with the guy serving me and he was telling me that a lot of new phones like the Nokia N96 were going on ebay for hundreds of pounds because people were upgrading but still using their old phones thereby making pure profit.
