Anybody heard of this or used it?

I've got a few items on the bay and have just realised that the listing says I ship all over the world. So when I queried this with Ebay they said I've opted into the "Global Shipping program".

This means if someone from another country wins the item, I send it to an Ebay UK based hub, who then ship it on the the winner and charge them the relevant fees.

Apparently the foreign bidder will see the increased shipping costs before they bid because Ebay magically knows the weight and dimension of what Im selling!

Just wondered if anyone has any experience of this?

its not good from what i have heard, very poor cover if anything goes wrong.
you may have to cover return postage in case of a dispute etc.

that's assuming the item arrives in the first place. and there is adequate compensation in the event of a claim for loss or damage. for example, royal mail will not pay for damage to TV's and computer monitors

Certain ebay sellers list countries they are not prepared to ship to which is a clear indication that they are not prepared to risk the consequences should a didspute arise

According to the eBay website, I am only responsible for the shipping to their UK depot, anything that happens to it after that, when they ship it abroad, is their responsibility.

Bet it would be royal PITA to get it sorted if anything did happen though!

under paypal's new rules, if a dispute is raised an attempt will be made to "reserve" funds automatically and in the event of an insufficient paypal balance will try to withdraw the funds from your bank account
