My head's mince over summit so simple

I' selling going to sell on ebay(last resort) the item for sale is going to be £320 ,can someone please tell me what fees i'll pay.
I'm planning a buy now /make me a offer ,or is that the wrong way to go about it :bang:
 
if my recent experience is anything to go by, and you are accepting paypal, your final fees incl paypal could be almost £40

i sold two old laptops recently and it worked out in total to be %15 all in.

total rip off.

Add the postage cost to the selling price and multiply the total by 0.034, then add 20 pence for the PayPal fees (which'll be getting on for £12).

So my buy now price is now £331, postage free... correct .

I just got into a tiz,was trying to multi task,according to the ladies, us men can't do multi tasking ,i'm thinking maybe their right just this once :D

I was caught out the same ,but i'm needing to sell the 450D as soon as :thumbs:
 
So whats best for selling and keeping fees to a minimum.

Let it run its course with a .99p starting price...or

Buy now/make an offer :bang::bang::shrug:
 
Iv just stopped selling on ebay now because of the

high fees, time you pay for lisings , photos, -15%

of course paypal take there cut , best to use

gumtree up in your area, no fees, up to 3 pics allowed

Yep totally agree with you on this i have to say ,i mean i need to sell but am not giving i away
 
Oh come on children they have got to make a living just as well as you and I
If you are so concerned about the fees do as I do which is easyput a reserve on BUT when you do add 25% to it to cover all your fees,and DONT accept paypal simple really
And another thing just check out how much it costs in an auction house thye normally want 15%commision let alone vat so at the mo that IS 30% ON TOP OF THE AUCTION PRICE

Um, with ebay UK you MUST accept paypal. Rules and stuff.

yeh, but there's making living and there's ebay fees, they must be making a mint. I know 15% won't apply to the more expesive items like cars etc (i hope!) but how much money must they make if 15% is taken off every single item ?

ok so for example recently i have been looking at the nikon 24-70mm lens. bought new for 1200, can be picked up here for 900-1000 and ebay ones regularly make £950 roughly. So to get the same money from your ebay sale as TP you would need to set a reserve of 1100. can't see that selling, can you?

When buying from ebay i dont take pity on the seller, i want it for what its worth or less. The seller takes the hit. Simple.

The 10% final value fee is capped at £40 so the fee is the same if it sells for £400 or £1100

Take it you don't use ebay for selling much .Auction house is no comparison,and your cavalier attitude of bunging on an extra 25% selling price irritates me no end .

Gumtree is quite good, only that the ads for photography equipment is not that active in my local area..Craigslist is another option, but all I've got so far are scammers! :bang: Do you guys know any other good sites to sell items?
 
I tend to use Preloved.co.uk its free to list anything, all you have to pay if you wish to contact the ads that are new is £5.00 per year. But you can contact adverts that are older without paying anything, 2 weeks I think.!
I have just sold some lenses and have listed another.works great

I dont use Ebay and in my experience you will mostly get spammers using gumtree - I use it only when I wanna give stuff away.

Whats wrong with Adtrader? I use this all the time... no fees, no spam, and as well as going online, your ad will appear in the local Adtrader paper within a week too.

It might be hassle for some but I let the cheque clear, advise the buyer and then let them arrange collection and delivery through Interparcel themselves. Works for me every time ;)
