Yes
what is the ettiquette here folks?

I bought an item off of ebay a few weeks back and it did not arrive, i contacted the seller and recieved no reply so after a few days more i raised a case through ebay and the next day my money was refunded.

now obviously the seller has left feedback for me and the item still appears as one i need to leave feedback for in my ebay account, now obviously i dont want to put positive because the lack of contact from the seller was terrible, is it acceptable to leave negative feedback in such cases (along the lines of 'item did not arrive and emails unanswered, refund issued after ebay case opened') is this overly harsh given the circumstances? i think its courteous to expect a reply to a polite message saying that im yet to recieve the item and i was wondering if their had been a delay.

Do nothing. The reminder on e-bay about feedback will disappear in 30 days. Can you leave negative feedback these days? I thought they had stopped that.

i didnt realise that it dissapeared after 30 days, ill just ignore it them,

thanks!

Why not leave either neutral or negative so other buyers know what they will be getting themselves into...

As isn't that why there is the option of leaving feedback??

I would leave a negative due to lack of response.

You need to warn other buyers that this seller will not cooperate in the event of parcel loss. That is the point of feedback, its nothing personal, and is just the facts.

:agree:

I just left +ve feedback against an eBay seller who issued me a prompt refund for lost parcel
............no questions asked either

so it's only right to leave -ve if they dont reply IMO

Could use the neutral button instead?

I reckon that ebays feedback is fatally flawed, a neutral feedback score should be the standard unless someone has gone out of their way to make the sale go smoothly then it should be positive!

A seller who allows something to go to dispute and not reply, is surely a negative....? How can no item, no response and a dispute possibly be a neutral?

You can't get much more of a negative experience!

I usually check the FB 1st before buying... If there is -ve FB & depending on how silly the remark stated I'd move on to some one else...

definately -ve feedback. If they had no interest in assisting in resolving the issue then why potentially help out future sales?? As per above buyers dont have to worry about being left -ve feedback anymore from a seller just 'getting you back' so go for it, after all it's just business :)

Would you click 'Buy' from this person again? If you are 100% sure you would not....then negative.
If you are just unhappy with the way it panned out, but are happy it's resolved, and would deal with them again (with trepidation of course), then neutral.

Either with explanation of what happened.

Sounds to me like the seller realised he didnt have stock, or decided not to sell or something imo.
