Ebay Canon Outlet Oddness

Maybe the feedback has been left all at once?

no, each one is one item, his ebay pages where he sells them under different names, suggest this as well.

when you pay for each one, canon automatically leaves feedback for you, his latest id is feedback is private.

the 3 purchase rule was brought in to stop this person so im told, how he gets around i dont know.

To be honest, I think the outlet wont care much, its getting things sold and out of their way.

It amazes me that anyone would buy from CO in the first place, half the time their refurb stuff goes for as much, if not more, than you can buy new UK stock for from other sources...

I was on the other day and almost all the listings are now "buy it now"!!?

since when, i have brought more than 3 items in ten days.

Good few months now,was 3 in 3 months, they altered it to 10 days, hence people setting up new ebay accounts, yet this ocean guy seems to be able to buy what he wants.

Its odd , if the outlet werent bothered who bought what, why impose the rule in the first place.

I know this post is a few mths old but i've been looking at the canon outlet pages, there's defo a con of some sort going on with regards to their listings for lenses, when they are listed they go within 2 seconds and i'm talking a 80mm f1.8 for approx £85.

Someone is getting the nod as to when these items will be listed and purchasing the second they appear, you'll then find a new listing with a different name selling the same lens for twice the price. Very unfair practices

The old exchange and mart trick..

You can get sniping apps that will bid in the last second or three of an auction to ensure you win an item, I haven't looked but I wouldn't be surprised if you can get one that "buys" an item automatically based on description, possibly from a specific seller ?

surely he could have bought all the items over a month and as Marcel says, do all the feedback in one go?

I am intrigued as to what the "old E&M" trick is/was.

3 items every ten days, have you noticed he's no longer a registered user?

They banned him, but he keeps firing up new accounts, they (the outlet) dont know how he got around the 3 item rule.

He doesnt leave feedback, the outlet leaves it you when you pay for something.

You've obviously never tried to buy or sell a car through E&M or the local classifieds paper.

When I was buying a car everything has just sold, even ringing the morning the paper came out.

When I was selling a car I was getting phone enquiries the day before the advert was published.

Obviously someone on these papers had a nice little earner pre-releasing information.

looks like he's got someone to boost his feedback up

On a slightly different topic, does it not get on your t*ts people buy things on ebay and 2 minutes later put them up with a buy it now at a far higher price.

I got an email alert about a 70-200 f2.8 IS on the canon outlet. On the same listing I found the same lens being sold for £500 more.

Really gets my goat :bang:

Unusually, there have been some real bargains amongst all the 'buy it now's' on the Ebay Canon Outlet page. A Refurb G11 for £85, Canon 100-400mm for £670, Canon S95 for £100 and quite a few more. However, they do go within seconds of being on there and I did wonder when I saw the same bidders getting more than one of the best deals.

Up until now I've never been on there at the right time, but sometimes you do get lucky. I've been looking at buying a new all-in-one printer and liked the look of the new Canon MX885. £149 in the shops but as luck would have it, I dropped onto Ebay just as the Canon Outlet had listed a Refurb for £49.99. It had been on there literally seconds and I managed to get it. Looks new with a new head and set of inks in the box that would cost around the same as I paid for everything:D

The good stuff goes in less than a second, if you dont get it, you dont get it, no good crying about it. People are at it all the time.
