Hi all,

i have about 100 or so text files with recipes.

Is there an easy way to upload these textfiles as posts to a blog? I will be setting up a new blog for the purpose, so can use any platform.

I'd look at some offline blogging software. Then you can just copy/paste and maybe even import, make it all pretty and upload to your platform of choice. If you're on a PC then Windows Live Writer is supposed to be good (and free).

There are actually some extra codes you can put in so that recipe mangers can understand a recipe blog. Take a look at the clues from Big Oven and Paprika.

The main reason i am trying to do this is to automate the import to paprika, which for some reason wont import a text file but will import form a web page.

Ah, OK. In that case, there may be a cunning way round it.....

Big Oven will retype stuff for you. If you send them a picture of a written (or printed) recipe they will type it in for you - for free. (I bet they really use OCR but who cares). Then you only have the job of getting it from Big Oven to Paprika.......

Actually, it might be easier to write a Word macro (or something) to convert your text files to YAML format.

Cheers Jonathan, i wasnt aware of that format - and Paprika will import yaml files (why they didnt tell me this and instead suggested copy pasting all my files one by one i have no idea!)
