Yes
Wife bought the usual Easter eggs for the kids and grandkids, Cadburys, Galaxy and Sainsbury. Is it just me but the word Easter seems to have been dropped from all the packaging to just eggs, only choc eggs we have with the word Easter on it is from Holland. I assume this is the work of the PC brigade once again.

Jeez what next on the shelves, halal corn flakes. Gonna stop now or I'll end up with a ban.

There was an "article" about this in on eof the more excitable tabloids today. Apparently Cadburys have "banned" the word Easter lest it offend unspecified people.

If I'm honest, I don't actually remember an easter egg ever saying Easter on it. I got some rather cute sugar coated eggs from Carluccios that say "buona Pasqua" on them. I thought that was nice.

How long has it been since anyone associated the buying and giving of chocolate eggs with Jesus? It's just something that's done at Easter. Makes no difference to me if the word "easter" is on the packaging or not.

Doesn't affect us. We wait until they're remaindered off and buy them then.

Not just a "reflective" red top either ;)

I don't remember Jesus eating chocolate eggs TBH :D
That's always puzzled me, but a quick google suggests a plausible explanation, but as to why I still have no idea..

A lot of us may chomp on chocolate eggs at Easter, but originally eating eggs was not allowed by the church during the week leading up to Easter (known as Holy Week).
So any eggs laid that week were saved and decorated to make them 'Holy Week eggs', then given to children as gifts.
The first chocolate eggs appeared in France and Germany in the 19th century but were bitter and hard.

And Oester didn't really have much to do with Jesus (slightly the opposite) even though we've borrowed the festival name to make it a bit more accessible to ordinary folk around this time of year. ;)

Next they'll be removing the word christmas from cards.

The world has gone PC mad.

just tabloids stirring the proverbial.
As per my link, not just the tabloids though is it?
They should know better than to incite racial hatred of course
And all over some chocolate too, when ever next?

In tbe USA the main title for the Winter Festival is The Holidays.

Hence Coca Cola's ad for Winter Festivals was music and the refrain "Holidays are Coming, Holidays are Coming" with some old white bearded geezer in a red outfit with a bottle of fizzy dark sugary liquid.... Christmas, Xmas or or or

I have every respect for peoples' beliefs and systems.... but I am also very certain that the weather in Judea 2015 years ago would have beeen problematical for Choccy covered eggs. Even If, at 19% Cocoa solid (vegelate), someone managed to get to South America to harvest Cocoa.... though there are scholars that reckon that The Romans drank "Hot Chocolate" as an aphrodisiac. My only thought on that was "Well **** me". Luckily I was not killed in the rush...... and melted Caburys (nee Kraft soon to be Heinz) Vegelate will not work al all for me...

In conclusion..... people we live in a globalised manufacturing world.... it will save £0.0000001 per Creme Egg wrapper if it works in every market and that the fact it tastes like s^^t is irrelevant.

Now for the real story.... for all you hot choccy drinkers..... is it really an aphrodisiac? Sod diabetes if it is.... Holidays are coming....

But the story itself is factual, they've got pictures and everything (y)
I'd have taken photos of all the eggs I've consumed over the last few weeks (cheaper than buying normal chocolate packs for consuming during movies) that are labelled with the word Easter somewhere, but I didn't realise people would be getting this outraged about chocolate.

:p

Chocolate should be banned, it makes people fat / diabetic / argue about religion.
Yep ban the stuff and be done with it (y)

I am outraged that you are not outraged! It's so typical that is causes a subset of outrage.....

Outraged of Surrey

Anyway if anything I would have thought that the religious lot would be happy that easter wasn't used in such a commercial way to line the pockets of multi million pound confectionary corporations?
But the same could be said for Christmas and probably even more so.

I do hope the chocolate is not to hot. Dont let it solidify either while in situ .......

I read this earlier, and promptly opened a Cadburys Mini Egg Easter egg which mentioned Easter at least twice on the box. Don't see what the issue is?!
