Hi everyone, i'm a newbie to the forum, but not that new to the whole photography thing 
So, a little about myself... My name is Chris, I'm 19 years old and I escaped 6th form with A Levels in maths, physics & DT.
I'm currently working in a photographic shop
Hopefully going to the University of Brighton in September.
I'm a keen kiteboarder! I was actually pointed in the direction of this forum by one of the guys over at a kite forum.
I got into photography when mum bought herself a Canon 400D with 18-55mm lens. I loved it straight away, and promptly read the manual to see if I could understand this new world of photography! Hours and hours of tinkering with settings and I was still confused lol. Now, however, i've picked most of it up and I'm very comfortable using pretty much all the settings on the camera!
The kiteboarding means we needed a nice long zoom lens, so she invested in the 75-300mm USM.
I use it more than her nowadays, having just bought the nifty fifty f/1.8 for myself
I'm looking to buy myself a camera, it's starting to annoy mum when I keep asking to borrow the 400D lol. She'd quite like to sell it to get a decent quality point & shoot, because she doesn't get the use out of the 400D that it might deserve. I've considered buying it from her, but my heart is set on a 40D or 50D. I'd love the 7D and some nice new lenses, but I just don't have the cash

also, not being in my 20's anymore), it tended to hurt when getting yanked out of it on my harness !!!
