East Anglia / East of England Film Meet (Suffolk)

Things tend to slow down on the film meets, when we met up last year at Westonbity I think abbandon only took one shot

I haven't decided what to bring yet, I'll be using public transport so it depends how energetic I feel.

I'm not currently having to work every single day so there is even a chance I might get round to developing it soon .....

Thought I pegged myself in for this one... should still be good to go. Will be the R2, the R-D1 ( :o ) and maybe the Chic. Possible the quarter plate too - but if I do I'm cheating and bringing the film back :D

@ChristofLP , it takes a bit of searching through the thread to find out when and where we're this meet up is, so it's probably worth updating the first post in the thread with the final chosen date, destination and list of attendees.

Also, it's probably worth posting this up in the Meeting Place section so we can't be accused of being seperatist and to see if there's any of the digital folk want to come and do some 'slow' photography.

I'll do that later on when I'm back on a proper computer rather than the iPad...

Balls. I've just realised that I'm double-booked on the 29th so I'm not going to make this meet. Sorry, guys :(

That's a real shame Dean.

I'll be setting up a meet in Arundel soon, hopefully you'll be able to make that one.

It looks dodgy for me as well as I've just been informed by the garage that the motor bike is running rich and they think it's the brass floats in the carburetors that are corroded and going to try and see if they can get them (bike is 25 years old)....they've had the bike for 2 months now but it was agreed in the beginning, that to keep costs down, they would work on it in-between jobs.

Dip them in yacht varnish like we used to years ago. Sorted.

March 29 is moving day for my son in Edinburgh, into his new flat, but I gather we're not needed on voyage. I've floated with SWMBO that we might spend a few days in Suffolk including the Film Meet for me. Not totally rejected, but she asks (a) what would she do while we're off having fun (classic defence) and (b) how does that square with the next day being Mother's Day (which our daughters like to celebrate). So I'm still up in the air...

Probably end up doing that and charge me for new parts ......I asked him how did he manage to start the bike with blocked carbs and If I heard him right he said "brake fluid"

Chris, I'm uncertain of the details, so this would be helpful if you could gather the info together. And I seem to remember you saying something about B&Bs; I'd hoped to be able to get a local "deal" and persuade the wife to come, but they've all vanished, so now need to look for other options nearby. Any pointers for really excellent but extremely cheap digs?;)

Just checking and discovered I can go there and back first class for less than the saver ticket price, that'll probably change tomorrow. 7:11 train from Coventry would get me there for 10:32... 7:11? What am I thinking of?? That means up at 6:15, leave the house by 6:45... not sure I'm up for that in my old age!

Wuss! Get a grip and get your ticket booked.

My wife was suggesting it's going to rain on Saturday in the East, but the forecast seems to be changing by the hour.

Who's going for sure? I'm still a probably... it's a long way, and my attempts to make this a "fun weekend away for us" seem to be falling on deaf ears!

If most people are arriving by train, getting to other locations (Shingle St was mentioned, there's also Orford and Aldeburgh) could be triack, and especially getting back for a particular train...

I'm going.

Which trains, Nick?

I thought I'd get the 8:00 train from Liverpool St which gets in to Woodbridge in time for a little breakfast before I fire up the motordrive and blast my way through as much s*** Agfa film as I can carry and then the 19:18 back to the smoke.

It's looking like just you, Nick (I'm still in doubt, trouble at 'mill)! Not even sure if @ChristofLP is coming (very quiet of late)...;)

Anyone else? Anyone at all?

Excellent! That's officially a Meet, then!

Just checked the tide times: high at 11:08, low at 16:31, quite near to a spring tide. So down to the river in the morning? Sunset 18:19, moonset 17:05...

I will be driving up the A12 from East London (Stratford area) on Saturday morning. I'm happy to rendezvous at Stratford and drive up. The only limitation is 3passengers max. That should save you cash, time and hassle.

Caveat: Car is a small 2+2.
So, if 3 passengers, comfort increases if you both have short-ish legs.
If only 2 passengers, the one in the back can sit with legs across the backseat

That's a generous offer if I hadn't already sorted my travel arrangments I'd take you up it..

OK, where we going/meeting? What time? Can we nail some specifics?

I'll be there at about 9:30 so will look for a suitable place to replenish my caffeine levels, hopefully theres somewhere at the station.

Sorry to say I won't be able to make it now, something has cropped up. Sorry. :(

Is @Jao coming? More to the point perhaps, is @ChristofLP coming? If so, perhaps his pub is a useful rendezvous... The Angel, looks like straight up Church St opposite the station, he said 5 minutes...

:tumbleweed: What's happening? Who's coming?

Is @Jao coming?

Adrian is otherwise engaged I think (Jao) else we'd be down together.

I can be at the station at 9:30 Nick, will meet you there if you like - beats walking :D Let me know.

Excellent, well done Arthur

With any luck we can then head up to Chris' pub... I have a black Toyota, can't miss it usually has loud music coming out the back :D

Any more cars coming, I could *possibly* fit another body in as well as Nick (or two friendly ones)...

What cameras are you bringing Arthur?

Hmm. The RD1, the R2, possibly the Minolta x700. And the EPL-1 :o
