Easiest way to transfer SSD with Win 7 install to new PC?

Thanks. Got fed up with messing, and have a lot of work to do so have just done a fresh install - nothing seemed to be working and the SSD with WIN7 was set for first boot and still had problems.

I couldn't actually use Acronis as my trial had run out so used EaseUS instead.

It's all setup now, but weirdly no drivers were installed so had to go through and download pretty much every single one!
 
Even if migration had worked you're probably better off with a fresh install.

I'm surprised you've got it finished so quickly though - reinstalling the whole caboodle takes days on my system, Windows itself is the easy bit!

Worth it. Feels fresh :)

Need to setup mail, Adobe products (LR, PS and Bridge) and a few preferences but other than that it's all ready. I'm purposefully slimming down on programs this time so that may be why I've done it fairly quickly - only downloading the regular stuff I use then downloading other programs if/when I need them. All of my files are stored on my Qnap so that was easy too.

http://ninite.com/ was a big help.

Pxe means it is trying to boot from the network card. Change the boot order in the BIOS.

I'll say it again, but from Vista onwards there has been no need to reinstall.....
 
Wusses those who won't upgrade in situ. :p

The latest versions of Windows just treat drivers as installed or missing. As long as you can boot the HDD, everything else will just fall into place with the correct drivers. After all.. that's just what a fresh install does.... If it doesn't work, my money is on incorrect or missing drivers :)
