Earthquake in Haiti :(

Watching this on CNN just now. Showing as 7.0 on the scale.
 
heres hoping this is not as bad as its made out to be, Seventythree I hope they are safe and well mate
 
Seriously bad stuff there :shake: but already politics kicks off from the US .... Obama says this etc .... Next they'll blame climate change ..... :shake:
 
sounds bad.. perhaps a time for the human race to evaluate living on volcanic islands and falult lines...
 
Got it on the news here - Tsunami 'watch' seems to be of less concern than at first thought. Not surprisingly info does seem pretty sketchy just now.

The earths power shouldn't amaze you at all. The earth has been shifting and changing shape for millions of years, long before the human race decided it would be fine to build on. What amazes me more is that some structures remain standing when an earthquake of this magnitude hits.

It's very sad news as it looks like there is going to be a massive death toll.
 
Its absoloutely devastating. Especially after the pounding Haiti has taken from hurricanes over the past decade and their rising amount of slums. :(

that statement makes the last few weeks of proper winter in the UK pale into insignificance.

thank goodness the tsunami's never materialised and the family are all fine.
