Just caught two collared doves on the garden fence ,doing the business surely that’s a bit to early in the year ?

I saw a couple of feral pigeons going at it on a neighbours roof a couple of days back,
I guess spring is in the air :D

There are nests with chicks under the bridges around here - put a picture in the 'photos you took today' thread.

It is not uncommon for collard doves to breed at any time of the year when food is readily available. Here in London I have seen some mating behaviour from two in our garden, and from wood pigeons too.

I believe it’s due to pigeons ability to feed their young by producing what is known as ‘crop milk’, thus rendering able to feed at any time of the year, rather them relying on insects or seeds
