Hi All,

knowing how many motorsport togs we have on here I'm hoping someone can help me out and point me in the direction of a website where I can buy photographs from the early to mid 70's.

I'm particularly after a couple of photos of Francois Cevert in the Tyrrell (71-73) and another of Scheckter in the P34 Tyrrell (6 wheeler) in 1976.

These are to be framed with models of the cars, therefore I'd prefer colour but the right B&W would certainly be considered.

I've tried Sutton-Images.co.uk and a general google search but thought I'd ask on here for any recommendations/suggestions before I order from Sutton.

Cheers All.

LAT? dont know if joe public can buy prints form there

my other option would have been sutton images but you;ve already tried their

Worth seeing if you can find anything on here http://www.schlegelmilch.com/ Eur50 for an a3 print i think from their, and a huge huge archive

Getty? They seem to own most images from the past 300 years....

thanks guys, I've tried LAT and Getty and both are for trade only, their prices therefore are a too high for what I want. I spoke to one of the guys at Getty regarding a similar request last year and was told the price would be excessive for what I required (IIRC £145 rings a bell for 1 image), needless to say I left it there.

WW, the website you've linked too, could be just the ticket, WOW some of those shots are great. Just trying to limit my purchases  Thanks!

ive got a wonderful book by that photographer, its called grand prix de monaco, its just page after page of glorious photos from the early 1900's to about the mid 90's it is a marvelous book, hardly any text apart from descriptions.

Ive found about 3 shots on their that i will be buying when i have some cash, theres a jim clark at the 'ring in the lotus 49 and a bandini picture that i think is also at the 'ring

theres a few great ones of francois as well which i found.

i could spend years on that site!

yeah, i could spend years and a fortune :D

I've just found your book on Ebay, Buy Now £20. I'll add it to my watch list and may buy it next month. its £40 on amazon, so on this occasion ebay wins :)

talking of old photos

bought a couple of nice prints today from an antiques shop (£8 each!)

they dont appear to be common ones of the internet so im wondering if they are someones personal photographs

IMG_0806%20%28Medium%29.JPG

im fairly sure this is Von Trips and Sterling Moss at the british GP aintree in 1961

its this one that i aint got a clue who it is. i first thought it was surtees but now i havent a clue who it is, what car it is and where it is (i guessed at Surtees, in a Lola mk4a at goodwood but im not sure when as i cant get the race numbers to tie up!) any ideas folks!

Edit: we now believe it to be Surtees (in a Lola mk4) being knocked out of the lead of the race by Gunther Seiffert at the chicane at Goodwood, Lavant Trophy 1962

just seen your post here, nice pics. what size are they ?

£8 for a framed print seems a good price to me

Speaking of good prices, I've used a website previously called Bid4Sport which sells signed sporting pictures and goods through an auction format. All items are certified etc. Back end of last year I got an email from them listing their latest items. I scanned it and spotted Jim Clark signed paper mounted with photo £300 which seems about going rate, others were Joe Siffert and a couple of other deceased drivers priced between £250 and £400. when I checked their website there was a Graham Hill version (Signed grid paper and photo mounted up) priced at £35. Bid and got it :D I expected an email "erm been a mistake should have been £350" but item arrived next day for £35. I was pleased
