Good news for me, not every day you get a letter in the post from the tax man telling you they owe you money. Even better when I woke up this morning to a nice cheque for £194 from them that I was not expecting till the new year.

Wish the tax man would think of me instead of himself, lousy sod had over £9k out of me back in July.

Happened to me in January this year, paid £27,000 in tax and received an over payment refund of £794 which paid for a top up on the garden shed fund

I know, the funny thing is, I've had refunds for 6 years back but yet we don't send them red letter reminders!?

Yes I know, I have to say I was shocked to get it so soon as I was expecting to have to wait ages to get it from them.

I got a refund 7 years ago...4years later they told me that was a mistake and asked for it back with interests...so unless your tax return was done by an accountant, I wouldn't be so.happy...
But it could be my bad luck only...
