Hi guys,

Need some ear defenders for monday I have yellow ones that will be good enough but hoping for something not yellow cos I don't wanna look like a **** as its the ssb

if you can only get them in tasteful yellow or red, grab a roll of black insulation tape at the same time :P

foam earplugs will do the job as long as it's not a masssssssive venue and you're in the pit... long term, get some surefire EP3's :)

These are good for music venues as they cut down the level but do not alter the tonal content.

Not sure if it's quite what you are after though.

not to sound monumentally daft steve but theres no pic or link in your post?

I was thinking a lot of gig guys used them thats why i put it in the gear forum soz fabs :(

methinks that might impair my photographic ability graham

bit out of my area of expertise this as i usually don't bother but this is an all night jobby and I'm gonna be in the pit and shizz
 
I think I know what Steve means...you can get ear defs that are moulded for your ear, and rather than just muffle everything they cut the decibel level while retaining near enough all the sound qaulity. They're bringing them in at my place early next year. They're not cheap though, but they'll last you years. Couldn't tell you where to get them though I'm afraid.
 
Saw one of our officers using these on the range last week, he swears by them, can hear normal talking but loud bangs get blocked

Yeah right, I , and my entire battlegroup got moulded at hannover on the way to OT13, to get earpieces fitted for PRR, did we see them??:lol:

I may order a set seeing as I spend most of my time on ranges
