Love the eyes, sheer concentration on what it's doing.

No wonder rabbits run like hell, so would I if i saw that coming at me. Brilliantly shot but just hope the eagle owl was ok after the shoot.

that would scare the hell out of me if i saw it. In fact, i think i'm now officially terrified of owls!

thats amazing, i love how its head remains perfectly still whilst the rest of its body is moving around it!

Great video and amazing detail, especially near the end where you can see the feathers moving and claws ready for attack!

As for the camera, that's one impressive bit of kit. I like the 32Gb for 5.17 sec of shooting, man you are going to get through that pretty fast LOL.

Fantastic !

Err - it has to be asked - how's the camera ?

What a glorious piece of footage - and what a majestic bird!

A fine example of poetry in motion.

Highest speed is 86,400 frames per second!

Never mind the camera, how's the photographer!

I've seen a few eagle owls at displays and they are really scary looking birds - big too. They have a very intense stare that is very intimidating.

Amazing clip - notice how the eyes stay locked on.

Brilliant, wish I had taken a film like that.

Looks like the claws are going to have your eyes out, a bit like Kirk Douglas in "The Vikings". :gag:

I shot one of these yesterday at an Owl sanctury in Cornwall, thankfully it wasnt in attack mode but awesome birds none the less. Love this short film, the eyes are so fixed on its 'prey' and the power in those claws are amazing

Is it attacking the camera or just heading for the fist that's (probably) holding a dead day-old chick which is being used to lure the owl to the handler? It is a bit daunting standing there while the owl is heading straight for you, which is why you usually hold your arm out to one side rather than in front of you (oh, the thought of an overshoot doesn't want dwelling on, either!).

Absolutely magnificent creature that's well captured. Thank you for sharing.

I so glad that technology is moving so quickly ....Fantastic footage ....Did you see the one by Fluke who were showing vibrations on various materials....Amazing

Outstanding

Very clear footage that, and amazing detail.

The owl is actually only intent on the piece of chick thats at the bottom of the screen which looks to be placed on a perch , the camera/person would have been fine. :)

Fab

Would be scary in 3D

Amazing footage of a wonderful bird, a friend had one of these and I'm glad I only saw landing on my hand in normal speed, I'd have second thoughts now.

There's an Eagle Owl in Muncaster Castle Owl Sanctuary. It killed a man in Russia, so now it's never let out of it's cage.

Fantastic !

Hi Camerassasin

Regards to Tony, Gwyn and the rest of the team.

My thought was "That's why his beak is bent".

Seriously a truly remarkable piece of technical photography.

WOW! just wow.

Agreed, all the way. Terrific photography. One minor point, raptors have talons, not claws.
