So my flash heads use the traditional long modelling bulbs as linked below http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Longlif...aphy_Flash_Lighting_Bulbs&hash=item3cca78a3df

But I was wondering if anyone uses different bulbs? I'm asking because for not much more I have seen these bulbs here:

These bulbs are 6000K cool white so might allow for short continuous lighting sessions ??

If they are no good and I need the traditional long thin ones then is there a best place to get them from? Knowing me I'll buy them online for £10 a go or something only to find its the same bulb for a different application and available for a quarter of the price if I search for that ?

I wouldn't fit those LED bulbs until someone with more knowledge can confirm they're okay, even if they will physically fit. I suspect potential problems/damage with dimming electronics.

I've got a couple of regular cheapo Tescos 100w tungsten bulbs as spares for my D-Lites (not needed them yet). The smaller ones, they fit/work fine, if still available.

Can you post a pic up so I can pop up to Tesco and look if they have the same ones here??

It's just a regular 100w ES bulb, about 1cm shorter than standard. Doubt Tesco still sell them after the recent change in energy regs.

Popped into Tesco today and they had E27 halogen bulbs, the shape and size of a normal house lightbulb for £2 each. They also had reflector light bulbs again halogen E27 but they had a dome on the end and the domed part was silver in colour?

I see Asda do a few E27 bulbs including a candle bulb that's much thinner with a similar profile to the original bulb?

You can get proper doble wall modelling lamp bulbs from amazon and ebay for about £5 each. Double wall means they are much less likely to spray your subject with bits of glass.

Yep, safety first ! Especially as ours are 250 watt. Touch wood we have never used a spare yet.
