E-Cigarettes

http://www.xgopro.co.uk/

Has anyone used these- I'm looking for an alternative to skycig!

Don`t know much about them and I cannot find any reviews either, personally I would go with something that is used by a lot of others. Are you after something that is the same shape as that Steve or are you open for suggestions?

I like the look of them for sure! I also like the convenience of the skycig , but not the cost! I'm using one cartridge a day which is costing me ££££! So I thought about re-fillable cigs and saw a massive ad in the paper today for the xpro- but yea I'm open to others advice please!

Thanks , Steve.

Steve, I saw the advert over Xmas, they are a rebranded ego battery, with some marketing stuff for their ejuice . Have a look at the ego starter kits, there are plenty about.

Sorry Steve I did not see underneath that they did a twin starter pack, that would be a good option as you will always have once charged up. For a little more you could have an Innokin MV2, it is a great unit and the battery holds it`s charge for a couple of days even through heavy vaping. It is also variable which gives you the option to change power to suite the type of juice you use.

Plenty to think about! Saw the Ego kits on eBay for less money but is this a reliable source? Don't want to buy anything fake!!

Stay away from Ebay unless they are a reputable dealer who sells stuff from their own website.

Have you got a bricks and mortar shop near you Steve? You may pay a little more but you then have someone to goto if you have an issue.

By the way Rich, got a Prometheus clone the other day and have it running dual coils at 0.7 ohms, by Christ it gives a good bit.

How bizzare I was looking at one today but it was from stateside, where did you get it from M8?

Vapour max in Bournemouth. Not sure they do mail order, but if you want one I could pick it up for you and post it.

Turns out there's one in Rochford-quite close so might take a trip there at the week-end!

Thanks Dave, message sent.

I've been using the E-lectron-S for the last 5 weeks, and loving it. Upgraded from a ROK legend, as I wanted the flexibility of being adjustable.
Yes, its quite big (think Men in Black Neuraliser!) but I am really enjoying it. The build quality and finish is brilliant, my only criticism is the polished chrome finish is very prone to fingerprints!
Now been about 4 months without a regular tobacco based cigarette, and not really missing it at all! I had one at christmas, and really didn't enjoy it, so I think Vaping has basically done it for me.

Just a heads up,hopefully the interview Chris Choi did with Dave Dorn on the E-Cig scene will be aired on the ITV Tonight programme on January 16th. It will be interesting to see how it was all edited for the programme.

Update. It seems that the show has been pushed back to the 23rd due to all the extra flood coverage reports.

I spoke to DD on Saturday. Chris Choi will be appearing on VTTV after the ITV show airs. This seems to suggest the show comes out broadly in our favour, as he'd surely be reluctant to face us if it was hostile. Both shows, ITV and VTTV, should be well worth a watch.

I shall be cringing with embarrassment as I may be in it once or twice. Be gentle with me.

Lol! John, as if I would. Yeh cannot wait to see it anyway, I heard that Chris did interview the anti`s as well so it should be a ballanced report, will have to wait and see.

Hmm...I'm not so sure it will be balanced after all.

Dave Dorn was due to appear on ITV Daybreak tomorrow morning, basically to plug the show. He was on his way to get his train today, when ITV called to say "don't come down". They didn't say why, but suddenly he's surplus to requirements.

Then an hour or two later, ITV updated their website and the following appeared on page about tomorrow's Daybreak:

Time to ban e-cigarettes?
Concern is growing over the safety of unregulated e-cigarettes. Most of the products bought by the UK's 1.3 million users are made in China, vary in quality and the chemicals in them are unregulated.

I suspect, we're about to get mugged.

Thanks for that John. The Barstewards!!

Is there anyone less trustworthy than telly folk?
I guess we'll still watch the programme, despite what it's likely to be about ...
They got to sell them nicotine patches! Time's running out.

Edit : Watching the very odd documentary right now. There is NO OIL in e-cig fluid, what was that dead guy smoking?!

5 minutes on Google tells me that that type of pneumonia is caused by MINERAL oils and that the most common cause is cough medicines. Mineral oils require very high temperatures to vapourise them. Much higher than Ecigs produce.

Including that in the show was a very cheap shot. As one vaper pointed out "my grandad watched ITV and he died. Where's the proof that ITV didn't kill him?".

The language was 'cheap' too, like unresearched journalism, plus all the advertising from the commercial e-cig pushers, all of which I've never even heard of, and none of which are bought by anyone with even a modicum of knowledge. Weird stuff.
The radio show bit made me laugh : I guess they recorded a whole hour of something and condensed it into about two minutes with "bye" at the end. I'd love to hear from the DJ about that :D

The "radio bit" was Vapourtrails TV. You can watch the full show that clip came from on their website.

Was it shown on ITV. if so I missed it :(

Did anyone see the older Doctor bit on This Morning yesterday?
He was puffing away telling wholly positive facts and encouraging smokers to quit by vaping.
Truly amazing stuff, and probably hit a lot more viewers than the dodgy Chris Choi documentary.

right all quiet in here but need so help.

i decided to have a go at rebuilding, im using a t3s and bought a starter pack of different wicks, wire and mesh from the mesh company

so far I've built rebuilt one with ekowool and 32 kanthal(i think) which is at 1.4ohm, this seems okay but still getting burn/dry hits some times.

the issue is I've tried to build one with mesh and it keeps dyeing, i presume its shorting.. it reads fine at 1.4 the 1.8 with the second. but after firing it up one side lights then it dies.

any ideas??

Cool, sounds like your coil want evenly wrapped.

its still not great, but doesn't short.
dont know what I'm doing wrong but getting a burn taste with every one I've build. what ohm do you guys aim for all of mine have been around 1.4-1.8(though thats just using my i taste to check) i think it may be to low for my juice as ive had loads off issues with burning out wicks quickly on bought ones, hence the trying to build. I mainly vape sweet juices like fruit salad.

On my mech mods I run from about 0.5 ohms on my varies I run approx 1.2 to 1.4 ohms. I haven't had a lot of luck with mesh, I always find I get a metallic taste, so my Gennis tanks I run as auto drippers with cotton wool wicks and at the moment a tinman coil which is made from kanthal ribbon. I also tend to vape sweeter juices and change the wick every tank.

Right Guys,

I'm officially fed up with Skycig! I've had to send back two "freedom" charging packs in the last two weeks! Sure, their customer service is superb but the inconvenience has put me off the brand big time!
So I need an alternative ,I fancy a self filling pack because they sound like a good way to save money- I'd like to keep things fairly simple (that's what attracted me to Skycig)
Just need a good recommendation from you experienced Vapers!

Something like this looks good although I know nothing of the brand!

Hi Steve personally I would go with the Evod kit, if you buy it through Myepack http://myepack.co.uk/evod-starter-kit.html you will get a great service and his support is top notch. Just a word of warning, most ecigs will have their quirky little niggles but nothing that cannot be sorted once you have had it for a bit of time using one and know how to sort those little issues out.The Evods are really reliable and having two in the kit means you will always have one charged up. You will also want to be purchasing liquid for these as well, and there are plenty of places to choose from depending on your tastes.
