On the evod coil head itself, grab the knurled post you see at the top here, and turn it anti-clockwise. That should unscrew it from the base.

This is what the head should look like screwed into the base

Aha - I was trying it from the other end :$

If you're trying to get at the wicks, then it's a case of 'wiggling' that post and the top post and rubber grommet will come apart, exposing the wicks. It can help - sometimes - to remove the top, loose wick they put in there by default. Just make sure to leave the one with the actual coil wrap in.

OK, will report back later - but have just ordered a new tank just in case - I was born blonde FTR ;)

Ha, hey we all make mistakes. I've put vivi nova tanks together and filled them without putting the rubber seal back in ... scratched my head as to why it was leaking and gurgling :D

One tip is to always make sure anything rubber goes back on tight, after taking anything apart. They're usually washers or these wee grommets in place to prevent leaks.

Hmmm, butterscotch! That was one of my favourite flavours as a kid, along with strong vanilla. But I have avoided trying either in e-juice form. I was a bit afraid it would be a bit :thumbsdown::gag: and turn me off those flavours. Where did you get yours?

Good to hear your vape-mail finally arrived!

These were form Puffin - who in fairness have sent me a money off voucher for next order to compensate for the hassle.

I have got butterscotch in one and coffee in the other atm [with menthol and vanilla waiting in the wings]. The bs is quite a subtle flavour but with a definite sweetness, so not sickly or over powering. The coffee is odd but I have been enjoying it all afternoon, it is definitely coffee, possibly slightly leaning to the burned filter coffee flavour, certainly bitterish, but oddly enjoyable

In my defence there is a bit that looks like a screwdriver should fit in it ;)

How is myepack. Are they othentic parts as the prices seem to good. Around have what I payed last time for a i clear16, same with the heads.

I thought that people tried to get as low a ohm head as possible when doing there own diy .what differ's between diy and bought then if your saying to buy higher ohm heads. I thought the higher ohm heads were for vv/vw batterys. Or am i totaly off the mark, which wouldnt supprise me....

Lower ohms = hotter, more vapour, but greater chance of burning. Particularly with EVODs/protanks as they have silica very near the heating coil.

With a VW battery, you can just dial the power up or down to taste, so resistance isn't so important.

iClear 16s are dual coil, I'm not sure the technicalities behind it, but it'll produce more vapour and better TH without having to work as hard. I've been using them a lot lately.

Dual coils are in parallel, so the resistance is halved. So 2 x 2ohm coils gives you 1ohm overall.

I'm sure somebody makes a juice that tastes like the instant muck you like!!!

Congrats on giving up the evil weed - how's the ceramic camera filling up?

:woot: Guess who is sitting here happily vaping some Butterscotch :D

£2.80 worse off, having traipsed to the sorting office, and a slightly sarcastic email sent to Puffin, but never the less, I have finally joined the incrowd :D

Congrats Yv. Hope you're enjoying it.

Spent a couple of hours lay night mixing and steeping a coupe of new juices. Red Apple, ice menthol and my cherry butterscotch mix. Steeped them using the hot water method for about 2 or 3 hours and all are vaping well. I have to say I think the ice menthol will be my everyday vape for a while.

I am having trouble with my victory evod tank. I just can't get it to be juice tight, is Ok for 5 mins then dumps the tank through the bottom, but when it was vaping it gives s lovely flavour. I am also telly enjoying my nova tank, loafs of vap and flavour and also seems to be economical on the juice front, give hours infont of tv last night and a3 hour drive this morning and only used about a quarter of a tank.

Yv pleased you have joined us. It's a slippery slip your on now.

Have you lost the o-ring that sits between the base and the coil unit? I did that once and it leaked like a leaky thing after.

There is that. I think that's for when the tank doesn't fire up/make contact with certain devices. You can screw that down to lengthen it a little so it makes contact with the post on the device, like say, a Vamo. I've never had to go near that though, thankfully.

I've tried a couple of coffee/cappuccino juices but they weren't to my liking. But that was earlier, when I'd just given up the cig's, I also went off coffee for a while. I might try one again some time. Butterscotch does sound nice for a vape though!

It's not actually a screw. It just pushes in. Pulling it out, by a tiny fraction, can help when the battery pin is a little short, though. Todd, of Todds reviews, mentioned that on his review of the Davide, IIRC.

My vamo frequently needs a bit of fiddling with the height of the positive pin. It's a pain, but its my own stupid fault for over-tightening various attys on it.

Not that I can see. Well try and look up some more info on it later and check

One thing I have noticed and not sure if anybody else has. Is that after doing a recoil, I can test it and it will come out at say 2.5ohms. By just screwing the coil down a fraction tighter it can sometimes change to say 1.8ohm After filling up the clearo or tank, it might well drop down to 1.6ohms. All these figures can vary slightly and some coils will test at say 1.8ohm and stay at 1.8ohms

Had to have a sneaky taste of my Black Jack I made  seems good, although I still need to see what it will be like after a good steep, I might introduce a touch of Menthol with it on my first big batch. Who cares if the coil only lasts a couple of days, I`m gonna do a mix using a small amount of Marmite :D

I think it's safe to say i shall always be buying coils because listening to you lot talking about hows and whys etc... is flying so fast over by head it's making me dizzy:lol::lol:

I've not seen that much change, but older coils tend to have a slightly higher resistance than when first made. Wish I understood the chemistry of it better, but its too much for my tiny mind.

But seriously DON'T vape random foodstuffs. There's no telling what nasty chems might be produced. Even some artificial food-safe flavourings should be avoided. Lookup "popcorn lung".

Personally, I can't be bothered with recoiling EVODs anymore. My time is worth more than a tenner a month.

Higher end atties have to be coiled by hand, but they're much bigger and easier to work with. I can recoil the Kayfun in about 3 minutes.

to be honest for the sake of a couple of quid i'm quite happy getting them, some of the mods and maybe bigger tanks do look good but i think they'd be too big for me

I have a sneaky feeling this wil be me, it all sounds like too much faffing around for the sake of a few quid, certainly on these evods anyway, which look very fiddly. :suspect:

Yep exactly and to be honest it does me well so far, i am tempted to try the iclear16 when i get the itaste kit but then that'll be my lot, i'd rather spend my money on all those yummylicious juices:D:D

this coffee one is getting better the more I use it... I think I might have to try adding some chocolate to it at some point too... chocolate liquid that is, not the real stuff

I have a mocha one here that I tried one taste and emptied it but I've left it for while and just filled up to see if its any better.. I think I'm just used to the sweet or fruity ones so its a bit alien or it could just be I need to try a different one!... I may add some vanilla when it gets here that might be nice

Yeah, vanilla would be nice with mocha in my mind...or cinnamon... it should be mentioned perhaps that my other addiction is anything coffee flavoured... I was the one that used to hoard all the coffee creams from the boxes of quality street that no one else wanted

I'm a huge Rockstar drinker and I just found a site with a liquid that flavour... hmm! I've tried Dr Pepper and it tastes NOTHING like the drink.. The coke one I tried doesn't taste like coke, either. They do taste like cola cubes though! I want to try aniseed.

Coffee sweets :puke: lol! I am a really coffee addict but only really the drinking kind!

Dr pepper I never liked but I'm always tempted to try any ejuice just incase..
I'd like to try black jack as I love those and I'm curious about the snake oil too
I'm hoping my samples arrive tomorrow as there's 11 to try

I love black jack too! I tried apple pie and that tasted nooooothing like apple pie :'(

not really a fizzy drink drinker [unless its a white wine spritzer :D ], the occasional glass of coke when working just for a sugar hit and thats about it, so will avoid those kinds of flavours... though it sounds like they probably dont taste like them anyway.

Just placed another order to use my voucher and if it takes as long as the last one... Cherry, dark chocolate and raspberry... part of me thinks all 3 could go together

I must admit to stealing a few puffs of my husbands caramel when he's not looking... it's very nice!

I had a chocolate and raspberry one when I first started it was quite nice..

Green apple is gorgeous.. Really fruity and like it says very appley lol yet the red apple smells lovely but tastes :gag:

I had apple pie too Toni it was awful still have a full bottle sitting here and caramel toffee or popcorn that I don't like

I really want to try the apple ones and popcorn ones but I've already wasted so much money on liquids I don't like! Emporium Vapour are fantastic because you get to taste all the liquids they have in the shop but they don't have everything.

anyone tried or using the Tmax snake oil?
quite interested in trying it but worried about spending £16 on 30ml and ending up not liking it.

Funnily enough i asked Rich about the snake oil yesterday, i see it mentioned all the time but i am the same, i don't know if i want to spend that without tasting first..

Although it does have good reviews :D

T, I have just ordered another bottle as I am running low, I do have a bit left still. PM me your address and I will send you a small sample. I use the 6mg which I find is just right.

Aww wow Rich that is lovely of you thank you. will pm now...

feeling... excited!lol

Have any of you swapped bottles you have bought and not liked, just so you can try stuff without buying even more? Just wondering really

That was one of the main reasons we asked for the swap/for sale section bit, it seems a sensible way to try stuff, i threw alot but still have pretty much full bottles of
Apple Pie
Caramel Toffee
cool mint gum

all 24mg which is too high for me now

I've always just put up with and finished the flavours I don't like cause I couldn't stand wasting the money haha! Being able to swap is a good idea.

Hats of to myepack.

Ordered some iclear 16's and spare heads yesterday morning. Its just arrived. Have to say I'm extremely pleased with the speed and price.
I was worried that due to the price they may be copies, but after email and confirming there real(and that they arrived in innokin boxes) I shall be using them for all my clearomisers again.

In all honesty me too, the ones i threw away only cost me £1 though so i didn't feel so bad and they were pretty :gag: i don't think i could have put up lol..

I've just recieved my buttered popcorn & vanilla custard/cherry & Vanilla/ pear drops:D

popcorn one really does seem popcorny lol:lol::lol: but cherry and vanilla seem a bit plasticy so maybe they need leaving for a bit, don't have another clearo to try the pear drops so i guess i will have to learn patience won't i:D
