E-Cigarettes

I was having the same issues, Dave. Using the disposable tanks, evods, vivi novas, ts3's (I think thats their name!) etc etc. I was very lucky if I got 3 or 4 days out of the wicks even with cleaning them etc.

I was using an ego battery.

Now I've got an SVD kit with iclear 30 tanks, I'm not going through wicks anywhere near as fast. I don't use the same wick longer than 2 weeks though - just personal preference.

Thanks guys, I Jane tried cleaning any of them yet.

I'll go and pop them in hot water and see if that helps. :)

Use hot as in boiling kettle water... if you have any vodka a dash of that is good too!:D

Hey gang

You know the little thingies that heats up to give you the vape… why am I seemingly getting through so many of these?

I've had my Evod starter kit almost 3 weeks now and gone through 5 already! Can you clean them or do anything to them to extend life? At this rate I'll spend more on them than the juice!!

You can rip the guts out of them Dave and then recoil them, it gives you something to tinker about with and passes the time of day  I find it quite therapeutic actually. If you decide you want to go down that route then you would need a VV/VW mod to test the resistance of the coils before putting them back in to the Evod. I know a few that have said they do not want a Mod but it does not usually take long before they get one :D

I change coils once a week on EVODs. Some do it more frequently, some less. It's down to personal taste.

If anyone is interested, tomorrow is the plenary vote on the TPD. The debate starts at 8am (UK time), with the vote starting at noon. The whole thing is being streamed on the web. I believe VTTV will have a link on their site.

At 4pm there's also an S&D Facebook event, hosted by Linda McCaravan herself. Last I looked there were 150 registered to attend, most of them Vapers. It could be a bloodbath!

I find im the same I bought two new iclear 16's and 5 spare heads 4/5 weeks ago and have gone through them all already, using a standard ego battery.

I think what juice you use affects this also, the coils I use on my menthol seem to last longer than the ones on my sweet juices.

 Take a look through Todds video Dave. The only thing I would point out, at the point when he has rebuilt the coil you would normaly check the resistance by putting it on a variable voltage/Wattage Mod, and also to make sure nothing was shorting out. By pressing two buttons together it will show you what the ohms of the coil is, eg 1.5 -1.8 etc.

A VV/VW is something either like THIS or THIS Dave. These have a built in circuit protection and over or under load warnings and cut off. If you rebuilt a coil and plonked it straight on your Evod battery you could end up causing damage to the battery. Building a coil is pretty easy but I would point out if you do not have a steady hand or are blind as a bat, it might prove a challenge. You could take one of your old one`s apart carefully and see how it is put together.

I see this posted by vanilla Vapes on facebook... if this is correct it's awesome news.....

So glad the EU have seen sense. The vote is still live but from what we can see e-cigs will NOT be forced down the medicines route. This is a good day for public health and common sense

Yes the voting went as good as we could have asked for. Was chain vaping watching the live stream.

My Evic had a makeover a couple of weeks ago with the same atty as Barry's.

Me too. Amendment 170 carried with a decent majority.

Stock up on 72mg base, if you're into home mixing or high strength juice. The highest concentration we'll be able to get is practically about 27-28mg (allowing for a margin of error).

Thankfully my mixing is now down to around 10mg so no problem for me. As I understand it though it will still be legal to import higher strength from USA as long as it's for personal use.

Some interesting posts appearing here. The live chat should be interesting this afternoon.

Thanks Rich, most enlightening... although with two left hands I don't think I'll be trying much of that soon

I am not sure if anybody has used or heard of Mrs Lord & Co? They have just opened for business and they are doing really well. They seem well respected and their liquids seem to be in quite demand, you will have to register with them to view their products as far as I am aware. I am going straight in with a Druide, £7 for 15ml is pretty good imo.

Funnily enough i was talking to someone on ukv who sent a pic of druide and the marmalade one... i've just signed up and tempted to try both of those and maybe the custard cream too

I'm on 18mg for the evods and protanks, and 12mg for the kayfun. Both should be easy enough from 30mg base, but I might just have to get another kayfun to give me more options for the PG/VG mix. Yeah, that works okay as an excuse. ;-)

Can someone recommend a kit, not going to cost to much, that have good battery life, won't fall to bits, easy to maintain, very strong strenght

Thanks
H

Something like the evod starter kit is good... reasonable price and 2 of everything so whilst one bat is charging you have another to use...

http://myepack.co.uk/kits/evod-starter-kit.html

liquids.. damn there are shed loads of sites.. i've just had a few come through from here, they are amazingly cheap and the lime ball and coconut ones i have on the go at the moment are lovely...

If you scroll up or back a few pages Rich (u8myufo) has listed a good few sites worth a visit too

Hi Helen, if I was to be honest knowing what I know now I would have gone for the Innoking MVP I have not come across anyone who has had a problem with them and I am sure John and Colin will tell you likewise. The Evod`s are good with respect that you have two batteries, but the MVP has a great battery life and you can charge it and vape on it whilst it is charging. The iClear 30 tank that it is advertised with is also very good and gives a better vape than the Evod tanks imho. Not sure what you would like to spend or if you want something that looks more slim?

I cannot agree more with the iClear 30 tanks. It's taken me nearly a year to find a tank that was suitable for me and the iClear 30's tick every box. I also love my SVD kit now I've got used to it but don't know if you might want something more suitable.

For liquids, I'd recommend going to your local shop and trying a few of theirs - it'll help give you a taste for what you like and hopefully save you some money on ordering liquids and you don't like them.

Agree with the iclear 30's they are great tanks..... i'm using the 16's as i'm still on the ego battery but even these are the best i've used so far...

the reason i still suggested the evod as a starter kit is because of the intial ease of use, i'm not sure i would want to go straight in with a big chunky thing until i knew a bit more about how it works, getting used to it all

Just spent a few hours reading this thread and scouting around the web, any thoughts or comments about either of these 2 as a possible purchase?

Vamo V5

KSD Kmax+

Hi Martyn and welcome in to the smokeless zone :D I originaly had the Vamo v4 which is not much different from the v5. I had a problem with the top thread so wanted to send it back. I received an Innokin SVD and the KMAX to look at and try out. The menue on the KMAX was naff imho and I was not that keen on the cut out slots in the bottom tube which shows the battery, the SVD was a breeze to use and that is the one I chose. However neither imo looked and felt as well made as the Vamo. I am sure there are those that have had no problems with the V5 so the choice is yours really. You might want to use somewhere else but give Myepack a look at, and as mentioned Ash who runs it is good as gold if you have any problems.

Haven't joined the smokeless zone just yet, but it's becoming a consideration for the near future.

Cheers for that Rich. I did prefer the look of the V5 to the KMAX and saw them both on the Myepack site. I'm sure there's others to consider as well so I'll carry on looking around until near the time my supply of baccy runs out.... ;)

I definitely recommend myepack. Got my kit and liquids in no time and they were a dream to deal with when a liquid wasn't what I thought it would be! I had a replacement at no charge through the door just a couple of days later :)

:nono::nono: ;) No probs Martyn all the best

But looking at the 'supply' cupboard, I reckon I've a fair idea what I'll be getting myself for Xmas... however I'll be checking back on this thread for any thoughts and comments re my initial post.

I done the same when I was quitting  Ordered my kit to arrive right around the same time my cigarettes (I used to buy what I needed once a month) ran out

Can't believe it's been nearly a year! Well.. 42 weeks... close enough

Thank you very much for your replies but I'm still confused as to what to order

If I go for the one in Richards link I then have to order the tank? then order the liquid or the tank comes with it ?

If I go for the T linked to then no tank just the liquid to order or do I still need a tank ?

I'm fuddled and really can't face reading all he posts in the thread so please help

I don't really care what it looks like, more about it working

Aww! Sorry to confuse you Helen :) If I were you I would go for one of the Innokin MVP V2 models on this page Not sure which colour you would want so you have the choice of a few there. They come with an iClear 30 tank which is pretty good, yes you will have to buy some liquid but to start with you could just order a bottle or two from Myepack at the same time.

Thank Rich have replied to you pm

Not very girly are they but I guess that does not matter

The last ones I tried had pre filled capsules, with these you just fill the tank

Sorry I really don't know anything about it all

How long does delivery normally take ?

H

I got my order from them in 2 or 3 days, Helen. I'm thinking it was 2 - not very long at all, either way :)

That`s cool Helen, yes you just unscrew the top cap, top up with liquid, screw top back on and away you go :D
