As per the thread title really - does anyone use this software? I've just downloaded a trial version, but if I wanted the full version, I'd have to get the £139 version as the standard version doesn't support the D700.

The optics correction functions look interesting, but I was wondering if the raw processor is any good?

It is my main RAW conversion software... I like it, but it will not be everyone's cup o tea. :)

You really have to use it to the end of its demo period, which I think is extended beyond the usual 30 days now.

Ask yourself if it has the lens modules for the cameras you want. In my case it covers all my Canon lenses and bodies.

Ask yourself whether you can live with it's quirkiness... For indeed it is a little 'odd' when compared to other software. ;)

I certainly have no complaints about the raw processing capabilities.

It really is a try before you buy. :)

I have the previous version - can see no reason to upgrade. If you have the body/lenses that are available and want a batch process correction tool it may be what you are looking for. I prefer to use Photoshop.

I tried it for a couple of days and got really tired of it. Lightroom does everyting much quicker although DxO might give just a very slightly better output in some cases. Lens perspective correction tool is great and the only reason to use DxO. Lens enhancement did very little to improve the output of any of my lenses. The amount of spyware and rootkits made me give it very quickly.

I've got it because it was stupidly cheap when my local Jessops closed down. It's the best tool out there for correcting distortion in my 10-22mm images. But that's the only good thing I can say about it. On my old machine (Core 2 Duo with 2GB ram) it was slow. I mean slow. Whole geological periods could pass while waiting for it to do its stuff. The new machine (Quad-Core 4GB RAM) is quite a bit better. But it still isn't fast.

Oh, did I mention that it crashes at least once a session?

Oh, and it's slow.

6 is out now & meant to be much improved speedwise over previous versions.

After the complete and utter screw-up they made of v5, I think I'll be waiting several months before I even allow the merest hint of the idea of contemplating the upgrade to enter my mind.

I've been using V5 for a year and I think it's great. Upgrading my laptop from 2GB to 4GB gave me the ability to process two images at once. I use it on Vista 64bit and I've had no problems with crashing or spyware. I've just downloaded V6 and it looks good but haven't used it enough to know if I'll make the £40 upgrade. Once you've got to grips and set up your presets plus found feature you didn’t realise existed it’s very useable. I still use photoshop afterwards make further enhancements to particular photos.

It wont create you a photo gallery / web page and isn’t 64bit but I still find myself using it more over Lightroom.

Hope this is of some help
