No
I'm trialing nik collection 4 it works well,
as a plug in to CS5.

That is except Silver fx 3 & viveza 3
Both say not enough memory to complete.
I have 20Gb RAM. I would have thought that was plenty.
Also Perspective FX not found.

TBH I only downloaded it for the Sharpening tools and HDR / tone mapping.
But it does make it an expensive add on, if it's just these that work.
What am I missing?

I’m afraid that’s what Nik collection is like now. Not to worry though they’ll soon release a new version which you’ll have to pay for that may (or may not) fix those issues and they’ll bung in a couple more presets.

So what you are saying is the full trial version is not "full" or the programme is just missing a few bits?

When I used CS6 I found the some issues were resolved by switching off faster processing in your Preferences (graphics card) settings.
It could be that your system can't cope with the increased demands of fast processing for some plugins, setting it to the standard (slower) processing may allow it to complete.

Seems a bit odd Roger but I'll give it a go. (y)
Of the face of it, it does seems a bit expensive, for a faulty / half a programme.
I would have thought that a ( part used) 250Gb SSD
i7 3.4GHz processor and 20Gb ram would have covered it though.

Having said that I have v2.4.0 of topaz denoise if I upgrade to the 3. whatever its like wading through treacle, even with a very small file.

The trial is full but there are still bugs. Every year DxO add a few presets (no new filters), tinker here and there, fix a bug, break something else, make it compatible with the latest OS and roll out an update. I think since DxO took over Nik they have issued 3 or 4 paid updates but nothing has really changed other than some presets and they modernised the UI of two of the applications (No, not all of them, just two) which by my count means another £150-£200 worth of updates before the entire suite has a modern interface.

Thanks for that (y)

So the question I need to ask myself is it worth paying just short of £90 for the 2 sharpening functions ( which are pretty good in my eyes) and the HDR / tone map function ( also good)

May as well get DxO Photolab when on sale and save the money, the older Nik collection works with that

Seems there is a free trial I'll give that a try.

How can I be sure that when I download the free version, I'm not downloading a virus etc?
Get it straight from Google - the old links to the installers still work, though the documentation is gone:

I'm still using the free old version available from DXO and it works perfectly with Adobe CC 2021 and has the two sharpening functions you mention as well as tonemapping abilities too

That sounds like the way for me to go (y)

The links are broken but a google search found working ones
Certainly nothing to lose that's for sure
I've now downloaded and quickly tested it. I does everything I need, and all the little programs work as they should.
I really appreciated the heads up Stuart, you are a gent (y)

The links to the installers I posted above are fine - I just tested them. Maybe there was a temporary problem?
