DxO has brought the Nik Collection

Very interesting, looks like someone may be looking at ways of getting one over on adobe?

Depending how they update and intergrate in the coming months, DxO could definitely become a weighty contender against lightroom.

Could be interesting but I still like it as an occaisional use/plugin to Lightroom

Yes. I've been trawling 'tinterweb since this came out. No indication that Fuji are supported but also no one seems to have tried DNG files created from Fuji RAW. I don't have it so can't try but it's a very interesting development.

Mind you, I've still got the original discs from before Google took them over.

They really need to improve their dust removal tool, although this would help make up for their lack of gradients and adjustment brush.

I will get my mate to send me a fuji dng if you like but why not just get the free download?

So, I've had 10-15 minutes to play with DXO's new software.

I've been a DXO Optics Pro owner since v7 and after a long break from using their software I upgraded to v11 last year as I was very impressed by their PRIME noise reduction.
I've never used DXO for raw processing because I just don't like it and get far better results from LR.
Their new software is exactly the same as Optics Pro but with new local adjustments utilising UPoint technology from Nik. It's great that DXO have finally added local adjustments to their software but it's still a no go for me. The raw processing just doesn't appeal to me. It just seems muddy compared to LR.

Will I upgrade to take advantage of UPoint? No.
I'll continue to use v11 occasionally for very noisy images by round tripping from LR, but I could never consider DXO as an alternative raw processor.

I'm the same, I've had DxO for ages but rarely use it... Sometimes i'd fire it up to use PRIME on a key image but, like you, I was never really happy with the output (or the interface). I played with the new 'Photolab' earlier today and really wanted to like it... but it still doesn't do it for me, even with the control point integration. I'm currently moving from Lightroom to Capture One Pro... it's hard to abandon the comfortable old Lightroom workflow though!

Good that someone has picked up Nik though... I hope they do more with it.
