Yes
I'm sitting here waiting for the doctor to arrive, I have a suspected Deep Vein Thrombosis in my right leg. Has anyone else had one? if so what happened and how is/was it treated?

My father had one.
Hospital job.
Treated with warfarin or similar (rat poison) that thins the blood and dissolves the clot.

Don't want to cause alarm, Edward.
Not everyone gets hospitalised with DVT.
I worked with someone who got a support stocking/drug therapy.
Probably down to severity and/or any other heath issues.

Hope it pans out OK for you.

Not had one but seen lots! ;)

Expect to be sent up to the hospital where they will scan your leg. If they find it is a DVT you will be started on heparin injections at first (some people self administer and take at home if the DVT is not too severe) and also warfarin tablets, all to thin the blood and break up the clot.

I suffered a blood clot on the lung a few years ago.
I expect you will be given warfarin and perhaps have blood tests done twice a day.
In my case I was rushed into hospital because of breathing problems.
When I was allowed home I had a nurse visit me twice a day to take blood samples so they could establish the warfarin dosage on a daily basis.
After that I had to attend the hospital every few weeks for a blood test.

If you are prescribed warfarin, be careful and try not to cut yourself, I switched from a wet shave to an electric shaver cos a couple of nicks bleed for quite some time due to my blood being thinner.
We don't want to see a thread 'RIP Ed Bray who bled to death' :)

How did those DVT and varicose vein ads appear above Ed's initial post?

After spending all day in the hospital I have been given the all clear as far as a DVT goes, downside is no one knows what the problem is, so I may be subject to a lot more tests yet.

Famous Last Words: They don't think what it is is likely to be life threatening, just very painfull!

Google ads links key words on the page to the ads it provides, so in theory the adverts are relevant to the topics discussed.

It has caused problems with one of my clients whose nickname is the first part of a sexual practice, so his page on the website was always filled with ads for that service.

Well I suppose that's good news . . . in a round about way.
Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of what's causing it.

The mind boggles!
