DVD to Pocket PC - Help Please

Hi folks

I'm trying to convert DVD to .wmv format so I can watch movies on my phone (O2 XDA Orbit II) whilst on the train and am not having much luck finding decent software.

Has anyone had any success with this? What software would you recommend?

I used to have one, but it wasn't a freeware and was perfect. Let me see if I can dig it out for you.
 
Here you go. As it happens, Pocketgear is an outstanding place for all your PDA applications.
 
Of course, if you're into PDAs that much, then you may also want to checkout Brighthand ... it's the holly grail for PDAs.
 
There are tools that help you do that, which are freeware; but the process is tedious and requires a number of different applications. I used to code for early PDAs to do some really odd stuff with them ... but have since grown too old and too tired, plus the market has matured a lot in the past few years.

If you want to go down the freeware route, check on Brighthand .. there are many threads on that, probably new ones too. I haven't posted there for over a year now, so I don't know how much that technology has progressed.
 
I've just tried pocket DVD wizard and had no joy. I'll give it another go tomorrow.
 
my htc touch hd will show avi's (i think not tried it yet - only a day old) and a lot of movies are available in .avi format, to back -up copies of dvds you have
