dvd question

A friend of mine has sent me a dvd of herself performing on stage. I have ripped it to my h/d as an ISO file and I want to make some short clips from it to upload to youtube for her.
I have tried moviemaker but it says it cannot work from the file I am pointing it towards, does anyone know of a better programme for making clips from a dvd please ?

I personally use - http://www.squared5.com/ - but then I am normally wanting to get the dvd into a quicktime, but I think that software will output to avi's too which will you should be able to edit.

To use that software: Download and instal it / Copy the .vob file from the DVD (just drag it onto you hard drive from the dvd) / import it into the software / select the output - it should then do all the converting for you.

P.S - I havent got it installed on this machine so cant see if it exports to avi, but think it does.

or try winaviconverter and convert it into avi or wmv then edit in moviemaker
