Hello all,

I recently treated myself to a Macbook Pro. Only downside is it doesn't have a DVD/CD drive.

I bought one of the below, but after the first use it swallowed the DVD and didn't eject it. There is no separate eject button on the device which seems crap to me so I sent it back and got a refund(and my disc back!) :

Can anyone recommend a drive with a separate eject button that they actually use on a Macbook?

Thanks in advance.

With Macs you eject the CD\DVD disk using the operating system. If I remember rightly dragging the disk icon to the Trash bin will eject the optical disk, therefor negating the need for an eject button on the dptical drive itself.

I bought the same player & even when you pressed eject in the Mac, it couldn't eject as a bit of plastic stopped the disk getting out. It was also noisy. So I returned it. So I'm awaiting for peoples replies as well, but not the expensive Apple one. :)

Tried all this with the drive I bought but still wouldn't eject. Guess you get what you pay for...

I have a Samsung SE 208 DVD Works fine and this model has an eject button, plus the "bent paperclip" ejection hole

That's the one . But only paid about £16.00 for it (OK two years ago)

From My memory I think
