May go to the show Sunday, and tempted to leave family at home and try the naughty field! Where do people park, and how do u get to it?

Google doesn't tell u where the best place to park is, or where the field is?

I'm considering trying the school tomorrow, but I've only got a 200mm lens and I'm not sure that's long enough. I'm also not looking at going until lunchtime and I don't know if I'll be allowed through then.

I might pop in there tomorrow (give some people a break from Red Panda photos and the like) and wonder whether I should just take one lens; 70-300 or 150-500.
I've been to a couple of airshows with the 70-300, so want to try the 150-500, but wonder if there is anything else worth having the slightly shorter length for?

Nope, the 150-500 will be perfect for the flying. You might want something wider if you want to do the flightline walk in the morning but otherwise don't bother with the 70-300 unless you're not used to the weight of the 150-500.

Cheers Harry
I can cope with the weight, but keep forgetting the zoom turns in the opposite direction

Excellent. Well best of luck :)

As a tip for the jet(s) you will want a high shutter speed, just sling the camera in Av and let it do the rest, for props you will be wanting prop blur so leave the camera in Tv mode with the shutter speed around 1/250th.

Harry.

As its local, popped there around 330 this afternoon to check area. Grange Rd is blocked at both ends with security men and car, but people seemed to be walking past unchallenged. Along the main road (from the A505) there were a number of people in the fields, so looks like its ok.

I've driven past Duxford countless times over the years and never been in, so will resist the temptation to join the naughty kids ;)

The best spots inside are either right at the M11 end near the superhangar or right at the other end on the 'tank bank' behind the land warfare centre.
Thanks again Harry  I tend to move around during the little acrobatic spot, so will probably take in both ends.
