Duty Free D300 only £834

Good reason to go on the Channel Tunnel, they have a Dixons in the shopping centre at Folkestone. Drat, I already got one....

be cusriou sto know if warranties are affected. Afterall presusmably they will be UK goods with a UK comapny invoice, even if no VAT is paid - but if warranties are fine, certainly for expensive items its worth checking the cost of a cheap internal flight if the savings are substantial enough

One of my rules is not to check prices of a product AFTER I have bought one! Although I believe I have paid the best price so far considering it's a normal UK model inc. the valid 2 year warranty. I paid £950 via a Google search for "Nikon D300." Click on the Jessops store for a further discount, otherwise it's normal price through the normal Jessops site. I've also posted this in the "bargains" section.

Just remember that you'll need to be travelling outwith the EU to get it:)

And as Shak says, it's how good your deal is that matters... My old man bought a D300 before Xmas last year, paid over £1200 for it from Jessops. I bought mine 2 months ago, paid £965, from the same place, with the same 2-year warranty. In another 6 months, I'd expect them to be between £900 and £920.

I haggled in my local Jessops for a D300 for my Father, walked out with a new one for £900, my advice is use good old fashioned Cash, put £900 on the counter and say take it or leave it, he took it :)

Actually not true, Dixonstaxfree is for any destination, i bought my Macbook pro at the channel tunnel terminal, saved 300 quid on it, and its perfectly legal UK one. Will be the same for cameras or anything else you buy from their stores :)

I tried that in one of the Glasgow branches - honestly you'd have thought I was asking for a poke at the manager's wife the way he went on

I'm going to try getting a Macbook this way. I know various people who are flying regularly and they'll pick one up for me.

Just make sure you phone the shop up at the airport they will be flying from, and make sure they have the stock, if they havent they can get it within a few days usually. Can call up to 2 weeks before and i would suggest doing it this far ahead in case they have to get stock in. I got mine shipped from Gatwick to Eurotunnel terminal.
