Hi, if I put a 50mm F1.2 lens on my 10D, factoring in the 1.6 crop, I end up with an effective 80mm.

Question, does the 1.6 multiplier apply to the 1.2 as well making it 1.92?

your effective DOF on a cropper is more as you stand back to frame the image the same. When you move back DOF gets greater.

EDIT: Sorry, just realised this sounds like I am talking completely off topic, your f/ number itself won't change but the effective DOF (which is due to how your f/ number is set among other things) is multiplied as you stand back to frame the subject.
 
The aperture is the same, but the effective depth of field increases. So for example, if you took:

Full frame camera - 50mm, 1/200s, f2.8
Crop camera - 30mm, 1/200, f2.8

The full frame version will have less (smaller) depth of field. IIRC they will look about the same if you take the FF to f4 (not sure about the exact correction but I think it's a stop).

DoF is equivalent to f/1.92 (f/number x crop factor) about one and a quarter stops difference.

Field of view is equivalent to 80mm on full frame. F/number is unchanged.
