Does pixel density affect Depth Of Field, in the same way that Sensor size does (and how does that work as well!)

Having a bad time getting my head around it :bang::bang:

Can't see how it should but I am always open to learn...

BTW how does sensor size affect DOF?

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

The smaller the pixel size the more visible any loss of sharpness will be when viewed close up. So, this implies a smaller depth of field - but for practical purposes this shouldn't matter much between similar sensor sizes.

All else being equal, longer focal lengths produce a shorter depth of field. A 35mm on APS-C is approximately equal in field of view to a 50mm on full frame, but will give a greater depth of field.

If the aperture is the same, the smaller the sensor (film neg) the greater the DoF, which is why many take great close-ups & macros on small point & shoots

MF on the other hand would be pretty useless for macro work as the DOF at the same aperture as a FF/cropped DSLR is much less
