Hi all,

Bit of a random and possibly stupid question, but anyone know if you can run two external monitors from a laptop, and if so would it be possible to retain the display on the laptop (so three screens in total).

My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv9000.

I have tried one through the DI (think thats right?) port but could i run another through the HDMI port?

Id like to get a couple of 24" monitors but want to check before i buy.

Thanks in advance, Andy

One option would be the Matrox DualHead2Go which would fit the bill perfectly.

I'd very much doubt that your laptop's GPU would be able to handle running three screens at the same time. But check the manufacturers website to double-check.

Just out of interest as I know b****r all about computers beside turning it on and using the net!

Why would you wnat to run multiple screens? I am guessing that it makes working on things easier?

Pete

yeah you can have more apps open in the same space, or Photoshop open on one and the tools on another or LR on another etc, just gives you more working room, or I use my 20" to watch films/videos on while working on my 24" widescreen
