Hi

Need to sort out the box room where my PC sit so that my son can move into the room. I want to keep the PC in the room and am thinking of getting a slim desk from Ikea with a monitor stand that can hold both my Dell 2209wa's.

I do not want one that clamps to the desk, but one that sits on the top as would prefer the table to touch the wall.

I have seen some on Amazon but have mixed review. So, what options do I have, any one setup something similar?

How slim is the slim desk? The downside with that style of monitor arm if you don't want much of a gap between the monitors is the secondary arm will be pointing out directly over the desk, especially with a 22" pair of monitors. It looks like you've got about 5cm from the wall to the start of the bracket, 15cm for the length of the arm, another 5cm for the bracket, then the depth of the monitor too. I've got a solid bar desk mount on a clamp and the centre monitor sticks out into the desk a lot further than it did on the original stand. If depth is an issue I'd probably go with the tabletop space saver stand rather than a dual arm stand.
 
Thank you both, think I may be thinking of this the wrong way round. I will measure the room and see how much space I have, before I decide on the width and length of the table I can fit in the room.

I have a table clamp based monitor stand for my two Dell 23" monitors - you mentioned not wanting one as you want the table to be up against the wall, but (with the model I have at least) the only bit of the stand that is 'behind' the table is the ~5mm of the back edge that goes around the table - the pillar and monitor arms are forward of this.

Just to add, you can also fix the stand through the cable management hole in a desk, which means it's not protruding back at all - I can't comment on how successful that is, as I wanted mine central on the desk.

I purchase the Duronic's at work, avoid ANY table mounted one as previously mentioned as they are either too bulky and take up considerable room, or the footprint is too small and the stand becomes unstable.

I usually go with the DM252's, or the Gas setups for executives.

I do however have 2 or 3 Dell MDS14 stands if you know anyone down this way, free to a good home

Went into ikea and saw a table I thought would work well. It is okay for the screens but not tall enough for the chair to be pushed in, in full. The room is too small but am determined to get some sort of table and bed in it.

So I think first mission is to find a suitable table, think will look for ones where I can mount the the screen to them.

if you are going to use the computer for any time, a slim desk will drive you mad, your arms do not sit on table and you end up really uncomfortable the ikea one we have is 50cm deep and its rubbish !!
