I've just spent the bank holiday weekend reading through this forum, after a friend pointed me towards it when I expressed an interest in getting a DSLR. It's a fantastic resource!
I've bought a D80 with a 18-105mm f3.5/5.6G ED VR Nikkor lens. I can't wait for the delivery man to arrive so that I can try it out! I've been interested in photography for most of my life but have never really taken the time to learn the technical aspects properly.
My (currently pre-DSLR) photos are on Flickr, in case anyone is interested.
