Yes
just out of interest how many members use their dslr's for the video work, what do you video and what other equipment do you use?

I use my GF-1 for lots of video. Mainly kids parties and family get togethers etc. Great quality from such a compact piece of kit. I also have the added bonus of being able to slot the SD card into my Panasonic tv and view them immediately.

I'm planning on upgrading my D40 to a latter Nikon, which models can do video?

the one thing i find hard is focusing as effectively auto focus is non-exsitant......

Never used. If I want a video I use my camcorder!

for extended video work a video camera is great however, the look and effect of a video taken with a dslr is amazing.

The GF1 will autofocus, not very quickly but it is capable. Will the Nikons not autofocus? Can they be manually focussed?

chopchop i have a canon it can supposedly auto focus but takes ages i havent tried it though.

I found my NEX5 is probably the best performer in video autofocus. plus 1680X1080p...

You said earlier that video from a DSLR was amazing, which camera were you referring to then?

I'm in the process of selling my Camcorder, its video it seems, is not as good as the footage I have seen from a Canon 60D.

the clarity of the video is amazing and the depth and richness of colours leaves you gobsmacked - (well it did me). would be great if you could record for longer intervals.
